If you had a gunshop, what would you specialize in and what would you sell?

>dedicated conceal carry shop
>no shotguns, rifles, surplus sold at all whatsoever, purely handguns
>dedicated staff that points customers to the right direction when making informed decisions on what they buy
>handguns ranging from Glock, M&P, HK, Beretta
>no Taurus, XD, Canik, .40S&W, RIP or any other sub-par gimmicky garbage
>large holster selection from quality companies like JM Custom, Keeper's Concealment, Raven Concealment and Custom Carry Concepts
>large amount of belts from companies like Ares Gear, Volund Gear Works and Mean Gene Leather
>you can try out any combination of available belts, holsters and handguns to see what works best for you
>large display section for sight options that display what they look like under different lighting conditions like pic
>large selection of sights from companies like Trijicon, Ameriglo and Dawson Precision
>buying any sights from the store will include free installation

>no shotguns, rifles, surplus

Good, surplus is cancer, and the fedoras who hoard it should be kicked out of the gun community as unceremoniously as possible.

I'd deal with military surplus firearms restoration, cleaning, information finding, equipment, and firearms themselves. Each one would have a little pamphlet on what it is, its value historically, and specifications. Where I live, surplus is only in the way of American equipment, being right next to one of the biggest airbases in the US, and surplus of any foreign kind is few and far between. There are also too many gun shops that don't deal with the like either. Most sell custom AR's, hunting weapons, and glocks.
>>
>i want to make a store and sell only the things I like >:)
>>
>>32818710
Forgot to mention it wouldn't be strictly surplus either. Just being the main focus. With five other shops dealing with non surplus I feel it wouldn't be an issue

I want to open a high end clothing store in the nicer part of town, I would specialize in non degenerate Male/Female clothing lines and high end CC weapons and high quality leather holster and gun belts
>>
>>32818564
Historical milsurp and rarity ammo for as cheap as I could possibly make it
Staff that's worth a fuck and actually polite and well-groomed
Buy by the pallet and not by the individual rifle for modern arms and ammo
Free safety courses, all day long
Cheap FFL transfers, all I'm doing is having storage space and 3 sheets of paper ffs

If I won the lottery and could do whatever I'd want, I'd specialize in all the cool 50's-90's yuropoor weapons and making US legal clones of them since we've been all but fucked out of owning most (without paying sometimes upwards of 10k).

Would just be mostly semi automatic magazine fed rifles and carbines, muh scary old school salt weapons. No picatinny rails, mostly iron sights and steel GI magazines, magpul btfo.

Chances of that actually happening though are no dice and wherever I end up living I'd just cater to the local fudd or mall ninja. Maybe have a small section of the shop dedicated to what I mentioned earlier.
>>
>>32818844

>>32818564
I'm not sure I'd specialize per se but I would like a gun shop that people would get the most out of. I've kind of had a dream for a while of a gunshop or factory that would have a primary function of legally arming as many people as possible with little to no concern for profit margins. Also I'd like to offer custom handloads and have ammunition/supplies vending machines for quick fix range trips. My focus would be customer service, what do you want and what is the absolute lowest I can accept for it. If you're there to browse and finger fuck by all means, if you wanna try something out step on in the range and get two free magazines of ammunition.

As far as selection I'd do my best to cover most markets; new, used, surplus, tactical, practical, conceal, hunt, economy and classic.

My biggest beef with most gun shops is the people behind the counter. It's either a stare down as soon as I'm in the door or I'm a walking wallet and only worth how many dollar signs they see over my head. Then when it comes to questions it's always a fudd who only wants to sell me his uncles favorite bolt gun, dude pushing specific sales "you don't want that, buy this!" or the kid of the owner who spends his spare time there to get weed/booze money.
>>
Be pretty normal but not bullshit people, just try and be real I guess, if they have their heart set on something dumb. Their money, but I'd try and be down to earth
>>
I would specialize in profitable items so i could continue to have a business and serve my customers.

Well OP, if I wanted to make money I would have a full selection and invest in training my employees.

this kinda sounds like an EDC store in Anchorage. They don't have a large selection of handguns, but what they do have would be considered "concealable". They also have a number of holsters for sale. I should note that in Alaska, a permit is not required for concealed carry.
>>
>>32818564
I think you're missing a range, classes (particularly ones that can get you a CCW) and ammo.

Also no ever hated seeing a used section. That's really the only thing I hate about PSA.

>>
>>32818564
I'm sure the shop would get a lot of flak, but it would be fun making things like belt fed rifles and stuff like that to work around Commiefornia style bans. It'd have to be done in easy-assemble kits that avoid cross-state laws.
>>
>>32821926
Open shop in urban environment
Stock Hi-Point, KelTec, TEC-9, MAC-10, other 90's gangsta guns
Label every pistol as Glawk 40 PS
Don't bother selling holsters. They won't use them.
Offer custom paint jobs such as gold plating and that dip that looks like cash.
Classes on what to do when the police ask you to drop the gun.
>>
>>32822438
>belt fed rifles
Are those not affected by the 10 round limit?
Or would they be 10 round belts?
>>
>>32822469
I'm sure there's a way to make belts that can be easily modified to clip together and not mess with the feeding.
>>
>>32822476
well 5.56 and 7.62 use disintegrating links, not a belt. Are links illegal?
>>
>>32822495
I'm not sure about in Cali. I don't think they have a law against it, but their last ban was pretty comprehensively JUST, so maybe?
>>
>>32818564
Great idea, anon. A store with limited selection, judgmental staff, and jacked up prices to pay for retard-tier gimmicks.
>>
>>32818564
Nobody buys guns at gunshops anymore. They buy em online and just have to pick em up there. If it wasnt for FFLs being a requirement for shipping gunshops would have been out of buisiness since 2005.
>>
How about a store that only sells milsurp and C&R guns.
>>
>>32822605
Not true. Most guns are still bought in store. You have to remember how most gun owners aren't autistic about it like us. They're just casuals. They walk into store on a whim wanting to buy a gun because of the local dindus and the guy at the counter sells them a glawk 19 cause they don't know any better and it's the only gun they can name.
They don't scrounge the internet for the best deals on mags and ammo. They just go to range with their basic 10/22 and glock 19 and shoot a couple boxes once every 3 years. Only own 2 or 3 guns and don't have extra ammo, mags, or accessories.

sell them at a loss. Most if not all gun stores actually lose money on firearm sales. The real money is in training. Soccer moms looking to learn to fire babby's first 9mm. Not to mention people looking to find out how to disassemble/clean their guns.

I've never understood why more gun stores don't offer classes/services/talks.

All of my LGS's only offer CCW classes and private lessons.

Meanwhile there is a local organic/european/gourmet food store and like 2-3 times a week they offer tastings, cooking classes, and/or general "learn about this type of food/ingredient/style of cooking" classes. I talked with a waitress there and apparently they make a fuck ton of money just on the classes (they range anywhere from $15-$250 per class) and every person that comes in and does say a "french cheese tasting" will usually spend another $20-$100 in product when they are done.

I'd like to see the same shit, but with gun stuff. Classes like:

>How to get started in competition shooting
>reloading basics
>handguns 101
>rifles 101
>how to pick parts for your AR
>how to build an AR
>long distance shooting 101
>gun laws and you
>selecting a gun for home defense
>NFA items and how to obtain them

They don't even have to be that long. I'm sure there are a ton of people out there that would pay say $20 to hear about the pros and cons of certain gun choices for home defense.

>>32823768

>>
>>32822863
Your a literal moron. Nobody reads the instructions on literally anything much less gets training. The business you make would only lose money forever.

>Most if not all gun stores actually lose money on firearm sales.

Literal moron. The MSRP is NOT what gunstores buy their guns at. They buy them for wholesale prices and raise the prices off of that. Most places just do a flat % raise. If MSRP is +30% off wholesale they might do a +20% off wholesale so they are still below MSRP and it looks like they are selling it cheap when people google it.

In general most people out buying a gun will either know what they want to know already, not give a damn to actually learn, or have someone they know and trust teach them. The population that will actually use these classes is so small it wouldnt be worth chasing.

I would specialize in slavshit. No gun shops in my area carry commie guns. The only aks to be found locally ar RAS47 and IO.
