All I got from google was it is some Argentinian revolver that was imported here back in the early 2000s.

You have a shit revolver you can't even Google info on, much less find parts for. And it would help put the guy away for longer with a second actual armed robbery charge as opposed to just the finger gun robbery which he'll likely get minimal charges on.

I would argue that the mugger gave it to him. And it would not needed as evidence for the "armed" robbery investigation as the weapon was his index finger. As far as the OP knows, the pistol is clean.

I googled it and it looks like that gun runs between $100 to $200, and saw it described using word like decent and quality.

22 LR revolvers that I've seen in pawnshops and and at gun shows (and there are scads of them, so the market is well defined) typically run about $100 to $200. This suggests that your gun is keeping up with the pack in terms of quality if is being bought for about the same price.

Now there are probably two interesting stories regarding your new gun. Argentina is not some third-world hellhole. Despite some poor economic policies (relevant later) and being perpetually butt-hurt over the Falklands, Argentina has industry, commerce, and culture. Many say it has a pronounced European character to it, which is not surprising since many Europeans immigrated there before and after WWII. European and American firearms were probably more expensive due tariffs and distribution costs. So your gun is the product of Argentina's homegrown arms industry that arose to meet the local demand and has since dabbled in the international market. A 22LR revolver is one of the least demanding types of guns in terms of design, fabrication, and materials. You can fuck it up, but only if you completely jettison your self-respect as a gunmaker. If all the parts are in working order, it will probably shoot just fine and be an inexpensive range toy and/or rat gun.

Now the second story concerns your would be mugger. In all likelihood he is dirt poor and knows fuckall about firearms (hint: you need ammo). Your gun is made to look like something Dirty Harry would use, and there is a good chance he got it not even knowing it was a 22 LR or because he could not get a real hand cannon.

1) Turn it in to a police gun buyback for some cash or a gift card.

2)Mail it to a random gun/shooting club in Argentina with a note explaining how you could not get parts for it, but you hope they can do something with it. Include its story for lulz.
