I've been "shopping around" for a first gun to buy since before the election and am no closer to making a decision now then I was back then. I feel so indecisive right now. Too many choices out there, I should just buy something.

I've only shot about 300 rounds out of my mini 14. I only became /hasguns/ in october (shotguns with fiance) partially because of panic over home defense partially to shoot. I got memed into a retired police cheif tactical shotgun training class.

in my defense we have shot a lot of shells out of the remmingshits and the only reason I haven't shot more 5.56 is because of the holidays and I'm about to buy her a compound bow. Also for the sake of keeping 100rds in the homes for false sense of security even though one scattergat is next to the bed.

Get a Glock 19 and put some Defoor Ameriglo sights on it. Autists will cry about "MUH MUH HOW IT PHEELS IN UR HANDS" forget that bullshit. A Glock 19 is a good baseline for a first gun that can double as a carry gun.

Put 1,000 rounds through your Glock 19 and actually learn how to shoot? Find deficiencies that you don't like about it? Good, sell your Glock 19 for little below what you spent on it and get whatever you found you like better.

I'm sort of an advocate of sticking to one platform (Glock) and shooting it the most. I would never be that guy that has a "carry rotation" jumping around platform to platform every day of the week but I think everyone should learn how to use as many different systems as possible. I still practice shooting DA/SA despite carrying a Glock 19

I'm absolutely incompetent with revolvers despite them being some of the simplest guns in the world. whenever I handle one I have to figure out which way the cylinder rotates and I always look like a jackass when I set the hammer, because apparently I do it with a weird flourish. it's gotten to the point where I won't even shoot them when offered because I'm afraid of making a fool of myself in front of my gun owning friends.

It's not an 8x56 M95, it's the Yugoslavian 7.92x57 conversion that's rebarreled with a barrel from an M24 Mauser and converted to use stripper clips. Shame Bubba beat me to it, but it's minimal and I don't mind so much when it's got a good bore and all-matching serials.

I have had a Ruger Scout for the past month that I still haven't bought ammo for.

I have had a Mauser C96 for more than 6 months that I have yet to buy ammo for.

In the meanwhile Im shopping for Beretta 92 FS grip even though i dont own since I plan it to be my next purchase while I can use that money towards ammo for the Ruger and Mauser.
