reasons im looking into a new watch is that i do a lot of camping outdoors, i am a outdoor life instructor ( its a scandinavian thing)

If you have shot other S&W revolvers, does the trigger feel as good as the rest of them? I have a Model 10 that is my favorite of all my guns, but my only revolver, and the only other revolvers I've handled were all S&W Performance centers or home-bubba'd slick-triggered models. How are the sights? How do you carry?

I've wanted a 442 for as long as I knew what one was, and before that I wanted a model 36 since i knew what it was. There's a local gun store that's had 442 with no lock for ~$350 for a month or two now, struggling to not buy one despite the fact that I don't have a CHL, but want to get one eventually, even though I'll rarely ever use it, I want the option

Polymer is more durable than a Glock. Pinpoint accurate. 18 round magazines designed like SMG mags for reliability. Has a really nice shape and only four moving parts so there isn't much that can go wrong with it.

As far as the Charter Arms goes, it goes bang every time and it was cheap (cost me $150 OTD back in 2012). Sometimes I leave my VP70Z in the car and I can conceal the revolver well in my pant pocket.

As far as the little pocket gun goes, it's five rounds of .32 ACP which is better than .25 ACP pocket guns, of which I have a few as well. Perhaps I should upgrade to a P32 from Kel-Tec but that would be more money spent when I already have a gun that fires reliably every time.

Fit and finish is supreme, mine's horse hide and it's super slim, slick and aesthetic, my complaint is there is no tension adjustment, and after ~2 years of carry the gun is very loose when *NOT* on the belt. Not sure if this is a bad thing or not - when worn the tension is there because of the belt.

Either way I am keeping it, the only reason it might get benched is I'm looking to add a light to my build.

1) Triggers are not as good as the K-Frames. The spring arrangement is different inside them. They are grittier and heavier out of the box. An APEX spring kit helps here, as does some light polishing of some components while you're installing it.
2) The sights are shit. Buy Crimson Trace grips.
3) They carry very well IWB or in the pocket. In my opinion, they carry better in the pocket than semi-autos despite the cylinder -- the more rounded overall profile is easier to hide.
4) Buy the no-lock 442. See if you can talk them into $300 if it's used, as it has been sitting there. New ones can be had for ~$365-380 if you look hard enough.

Bonus: spend $20 and buy the discontinued Uncle Mike's boot grips on eBay. They're far superior to the current boot grips seen in that anon's pic.

Just tested my new to me PF9 for the first time today and I'm a bit worried. I had quite a few failures to feed. I'm considering getting another single stack 9 for carry. What would you chodes recommend?

Honestly, I'd just be fine with a double-stack P9S. I carry mine over the VP70Z at times and love it. Extremely accurate gun and the side cocker just makes it even more insatiable.

I've traditionally been an HK fanboy but haven't bought any of their recent lines. Newest HK I own is a USP .45 from 2003.

It's funny because the Germans adopted the USP as the P8, even though the P9S was originally the P9. And then there were the P9's in your picture.

The VP70Z's are not expensive if you get lucky on GB. The P9S I own I'd consider more of a collector's item, or the Steyr GB (though I carry both at times).

The VP70Z has a nice outline and is easy for me to pull out, which makes it my current favorite flavor.

I bought mine in late 2015 for $325 OTD.

the fiber-optic front sight isnt a delicate flower, either...smacked, scraped, bumped, whatever,,the fiber-optic bits are holding fast
