How does one go about manufacturing guns for personal use in their garage?
What tools do I need?
Also, fuck the ATF.
Can I own artillery?
Is it legal?
I know cannons cost about 2k, but what about a mortar?

Are there any books on this subject?

Look at other home built designs. Good schematics and blueprints for inspiration.

You could build a gun with a drill, hacksaw, and a dremel if you wanted.

If you wanted to be advanced about it get a milling machine, lathe, and take some classes.

You can build black powder cannon in your home.
>>
If you honestly have to ask this question, you're too dumb to even start.

Go look at the design of fire arms, design a gun on paper build able using only the tools you currently have. When you realize something is impossible with what you have, find a easily available commercial tool. Like tin snips to cut metal.

Also take advantage of the standard sizes of things. A 3/8 galvanized pipe fits a 410 round with only a 13 thou difference. Same with a 3/4 pipe fitting a 12 gauge with small difference.

>how does one go about manufacturing guns for personal use in their garage?
Depends. Does your garage hold a car, a bunch of random junk, or a full fledged machine shop?
>what tools do I need?
For a Sten/Luty tier gun, you need slipjoint pliers and a hacksaw, and maybe a hammer. For a nice gun, you need a $20,000+ mill with DRO and a $6,000+ 14x32"+ benchtop lathe (or bigger) with a 4-jaw chuck and live center, plus all the various bits and tools to go with them.
>also, fuck the ATF
I hope you don't have a doggo
>can I own artillery?
Yes
>is it legal?
Yes, provided you're willing to wait upwards of a year, pay for the tax stamp for the artillery piece itself and every single round of ammo you have for it, and subject yourself to frequent no-notice inspections.
>I know cannons cost about $2k, but what about a mortar?
You can build a functional but inaccurate and short range mortar for less than $30. AFAIK nobody's sold a functional, military mortar in decades and the few that are on the registry would be 6-figure-plus sales.

I once shoved one of my sister's barbie dolls up my ass, just one of the legs.
I then masturbated and ejaculated onto the barbie's face while she was pussy deep in my asshole.
Those were weird but cool times.

Digital read out. Electronically tracks the position of the table for you so you don't have to count turns of your handle all the time and keep track of it all yourself. It is very handy and convenient, especially if you have a hole pattern to drill or something. A lot of mills are cheap if they are larger than a tiny hobby one because moving them is inconvenient. Furthermore, manual machines are being used less and less. Often, they are also three phase, which requires a converter to run on normal home power (though the converters are affordable, so this isn't too bad).

T. Machinist, who has made multiple weapons. Currently working on a 410 revolver.

The problem with this thread is that it's not asking a answerable question. It's all down to what you wanna do. You can make a single shot pipe gun with just a saw because you can buy most of the parts. Or you can build a beautiful masterpiece of engraved, gas operated 278 Peterson battle rifle, with CNC and a lot of knowledge.

Also people who just say 'just build a Sten' have never actually built one.

Here's the piece of shit I carried through middle school and high school. It fired 22 pellets using 22 blanks cos neither needed a license or age to obtain

You could, but for that much effort you could be producing an MG3.

And let's be real, the MG3 will make you happier.

You obviously haven't seen Waffenschmiedin's videos then... Although I'm pretty sure she's an actual machinist. You can watch her build pic related completely from scratch:

Step 1:
Acquire some files and metal
Step 2:
Use files to remove everything that isn't gun from the metal

It's really that easy!
