/k/ related literature thread.
Been reading Beckwith's memoirs, it deals briefly with his Vietnam stuff and then its completely about Delta till the end. Very interesting read for someone who is into SOF and the unit.

THE SIEGE OF MECCA.
A true story of how a mad man managed to fucked up the modern Saudi Arabia, Islam and world.
Highly recommend to understanding how modern terrorism was born.

Finished reading this a few days ago. I though it was a good book. Pretty interesting how he did the whole SAS thing then tried to bring it the the US.
Once an eagle is a good read. 10/10
Low Level Hell is an absolute must read.
>little bird pilot's book about him and his crew chief (monkey strapped in the back of a little bird with a mounted m60 and an m79) and the missions they had as a part of a hunter/killer team
Truly gruesome shit.
Fireforce is excellent book
I remember reading a screencap about some guy who was in a SHTF situation stuck in a town during a war or something, and how he survived all that fixing shit, selling lighters etc.
any books like that?

One Second After by William R. Forstchen might be what you're looking for. It deals with life after a nation-wide EMP event.
Do you (or anyone) have that screencap? I can't find my copy.
I also have this link but I think it's a different guy. Still interesting though. http://www.shtfplan.com/emergency-preparedness/a-survival-q-a-living-through-shtf-in-the-middle-of-a-war-zone_10252011

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall it coming to light later that this story was all made up.

I haven't heard anything about that, if you could find a source it'd be interesting.
Even if it is, it seems like it's well researched as far as disaster scenarios go
Inside Delta Force by Eric Haney
Spetsnaz by Viktor Suvorov
No Easy Day by Mark Owen
I would recommend all if those. If you care about CIA cold war activity at all then The Billion Dollar spy is great, and reading it feels like it's a blockbuster spy film, but it's all true
One Soldier's War in Chechnya, by Arkady Babchenko
That's some brutal shit right there.
