I just did, if the cards are standard MtG thickness, no, it would not work. The hammer rips right through. But if they're plastic, like a drivers license, it stops the hammer.

Yugioh cards in the anime are actually that kind of laminated plastic.

They aren't in real life for obvious financial reasons but I guess for the anime it works.

So this is a pre-model 10 and the hammer mostly punched through but didn't quite reach the primer, not only that but since the hammer couldn't drop all the way the trigger couldn't reset and the cylinder couldn't advance or fall back to the last chamber. Locked the gun up for a couple minutes until I weazled the card out

Depends on the shape of the slide/frame near the trigger.

With an M9, for example, the rear of the slide is curved. If the card is plastic or laminated, the hammer would just push the card up and out of the way. If the card is soft paper, it will cut a small notch and hit the firing pin - I imagine there is a small chance of it igniting the primer as well.
