Want to get a decent bolt action surplus rifle and want some suggestions, it should be accurate and have mid to large round. Right now I'm thinking either a k31 or a Yugoslavian mauser
K31 is an accurate rifle with nice iron sights (and they have GOAT surplus ammo in GP11), but Mausers can be accurate too, sometimes in spite of their sights and purportedly poor ammo.
Try to handle an example of each to get a feel for how it operates and your comfort with it.

The K-31 is fucking amazing, but 7.5x55mm isnt common at all. If you want a rifle to shoot alot, get a Yugo Mauser.

What's your budget and do you reload?
>>32789601
The problem is you just said the k31 is amazing, and the guy before said its accuracy is as good as I keep hearing. I may have to learn to reload
>>32789618
400-1200 and I want to learn to reload
>>32789650
OK, then you have a lot of options. K31 will run you about $700 these days. They're pretty cool but I am less than impressed with their accuracy. While it's definitely not bad it's not a laser beam either. My Lebel is just as accurate, and No4 (T) blows it away.
If you don't mind hunting a little bit, a Ross rifle might be just what you're looking for. 303 isn't that hard to find, and is very easy to reload, they are smooth as fuck, and were so renowned for their accuracy that they were accused multiple times of being a target rifle during military shooting competitions.
If you want something a little easier on the pocket, a Swedish Mauser will serve you very well, as will a M39 from the Finns.

An M48 should be fine

>About 700
They just sold a bunch at Classic for less than 400

When?
Get a M39 Finn nugget and forget the rest. It's about as good of a cheap feeding surplus rifle you're goung to get. They are very accurate as well.

Yesterday. I ordered one immediately
>>32790230
Well they're out now, so my statement stands.
>>32790365
They put them up at 12pm and were out of stock by 4:30 pm

Or at least I got the email alert at 12
My long rifle is a Norwegian Krag-Jorgensen 1894. It eats 6.5x55. Army and shooting club ammo works flawlessly. I also reload. Not suited for scope without gunsmithing and I want the historicallly correct weapon, so I use the iron sights. It's a good tight job mechanically and the slightly arcane loading gate works very well.
Stock picture.
I saw a shitty looking m1917 enfield by Remington for $279 in a local pawn shop. Stock looks fine but rifle barrel is kinda rusted. Rifling is excellent. Can be restored for a couple hundred dollars.
Should I get it?
Love my K31. One of those guns you just cant put down. The only thing I dont get is why gp11 comes in boxes of ten but the rifle only holds 6+1. Small problem to have when 10 round mags are on the way. Anyways, when you get yours take the butt plate and check for a troop tag, those are always fun to find.

I don't get that either, especially since the Swiss package it in 60-round blocks. They could have 5 boxes of 12 rather than 6 boxes of ten; you think that would better satiate their autism.

At least they got the cigarette pack design right. What are those clips you're using? I've heard nugget clips work but havent tried it.
>ppl recommending a yugo mauser
while its a lot more common than 7.5 swiss 8mm isnt super easy to come by
>>32789601
GP11 is back baby
>ctrl-f
>no mosin nagant
these are dark days indeed
>>32792501
>What are those clips you're using?
Those are Mauser 98 clips for the 8x57mm; I don't have any chargers for 7.5x55mm.

Debbie-fuckin'-Downer over here.
>>32792519
Aaaand it's gone.
>>32792324
1917s around me go for around $550 so I think you'd sink more money in it then its worth.
>>32790068
This is another good one
OP you can find a used Mauser on Arms list for cheap
I got this M24/47 with bayonet and 100 rounds for 120 bucks

I've got a whole lot of 8mm Mauser clips, they work alright.
>Turned 18 just in time to buy a Vz24 and not be able to afford 8mm
Still cant 4 years later, cant wait to graduate next year.
>>32792550
I prefer owning them just to shoot not make money out of it.
>>32792960
I get that, but what I guess I meant was you could get a rifle in the original configuration (which will probably have a better barrel) for the same price as if you got the pawn shop one and tried to restore it
My two favorite milsurp bolt rifles are the Lee Enfield No4 and the Swedish Mausers; any variant of either of these rifles will be great.
I highly recommend either or both.
