no, it puts your hand in position to eject the magazine AND assist with a manual removal if necessary.

breddy gud design if you ask me.

Just because it's a preference doesn't make it objectively inferior.
>breddy gud design if you ask me.
now try to drop the mag with only one hand

Then why do all modern hand guns not use it? hmmmmmm?
>>
It was a pretty good gun while i had it. It cycled those slightly longer CCI .22 lr's

If you are in a situation where you need to drop your mag with one hand, you probably only have one hand to use. Then how are you going to grab a new magazine and rack the slide or press the release? You put it in your holster. If you put it in your holster, you then can drop the mag one handed with a heel release.

>assist with a manual removal if necessary

Jesus, buy a modern gun.

never taking less than four to five times as long to reload

With a button or paddle you never have to touch the magazine. You simply go for the magazine with your off hand immediately.

Your cuck release is bad, and you should feel bad. If you want to be a contrarian little shit then the european paddle release is for you, and you will be welcomed by VP9 and Walther fans alike. There is absolutely no merit to the heel release.

>If you are in a situation where you need to drop your mag with one hand, you probably only have one hand to use.
>need to
Using your hands separately is an order of magnitude faster, who would have thought? Even in one-handed operation it's faster, and keep in mind I'm doing this with my 92G and 92S right now:
drop mag, armpit pistol, retrieve and insert fresh mag, drop slide versus
armpit pistol, release magazine, pull magazine the rest of the way out, insert fresh mag, drop slide
You're adding unnecessary bullshit to the equation when every second matters.

I know this is a troll thread, but you should understand it's not trolling unless you start an argument between two separate parties. Consider arguing for the paddle release next time because the heel release has no merit whatsoever.

However, I will submit that I'd rather have a 15 round magazine with a heel release than a 7 or 8 round magazine with a button or paddle. Since there are guns better than the 92S for cheaper that's more of a thought exercise, but I figured I'd mention it.

Again, this is a very shit troll. Try paddle releases next time.

Calm the fuck down John Wick. If you are fighting so hard with your handgun you even need to reload you have already fucked up.

Yeah, paddle is faster when you are a L33t Operator Operating Operationally and you need to fight of 40 people off with your trusty 9mm. However, the heel does have the benefit of being less likely too accidentally be hit and drop the mag, its nice for the range when you aren't discarding $25 mags left and right onto the ground, and you don't have to modify your grip on the handgun itself.

zero is not less than zero
>its nice for the range when you aren't discarding $25 mags left and right onto the ground
(a) train like you fight, you should be letting them drop every time so you don't get into that habit
(b) it's still faster to pull your mag with a button or paddle than a heel
(c) it's far easier on your thumbs with a button or paddle than a heel
>you don't have to modify your grip on the handgun itself
If you need to modify your grip to hit a button release then you need to change the grip or find a different handgun ASAP.

>train like you fight, you should be letting them drop every time so you don't get into that habit

Not everyone is planning on new mags being available. Policing your empty mags is good practice in guerrilla tactics, even if you can't police your brass you prevent needless equipment loss by ejecting directly into the hand.
>If you need to modify your grip to hit a button release then you need to change the grip or find a different handgun ASAP
heel style release lends the grip to more styles of grips. I can hit a quarter at 25 yards with my friend's 10mm, but with that grip I eject the mag everytime. guerrillas can't be choosers.

I don't think they are inherently wrong. They're a touch slower unless you practice reloads.

Biggest gripe I have about them is that I have to explain how to drop the mag to every single person that touches one.

However I will say that depends on how stiff the release is. My Baby Browning release is so stiff that I almost need to wear gloves to push it.
