is /k/ dead ?
>>32784515
seems so
Might go better if people contributed more original content. Or not. The times I've contributed something the thread goes to page 10 faster than a Rhodesian thread turns into a shit fest about Nugget Enterprises and the Rhodie camo project.

Surprised it's not on here, but in the country I grew up in plastic bottles cut in half, and laces threaded on top are common shoes for children nowadays.
Plastic bottles weren't big when I was a child though so we had rolled rope around to shape the sole of the shoe and then sewed it together so it doesn't fall apart, then sew an old rag or scraps of shirt over it (I used old denim for mine and they were bitching). They looked a lot like the average house slipper/Toms brand shoes.

If you have time to do all that your time would be better spent finding a position that isn't a deathtrap.
Does anybody have any book recommendations? Practical knowledge non-fiction strictly speaking.
>>32791963
Dear Mom: A sniper's Vietnam - Good
Chickenhawk (slick pilot) - Very good & sad
Making a killing (awesome PMC adventures) - Extremely recommended
Escape from Baghdad (PMC adventures the sequel) - Decent, not special
A long way gone (child soldierin') - Decent
The forgotten soldier - Timeless operator classic, must read
Storm of steel - Timeless operator classic, must read
SOG john plaster(americans owning & getting owned) - Educational
Acceptable loss (more Vietnam LRRP & Blue Apaches) - Good
Shake hands with the devil (UN ROE suck balls) - Educational
On war - Educational but overhyped
War is a racket - Interesting
The art of war - Classic, but mostly blatantly obvious
