are you implying that's something that exists in canada? because it doesn't.

anything about classification/mags he'll just redirect to the RCMP being in charge of those things.

only useful thing you could really ask is how would his policy of repealing Bill C-42 improve public safety? Those retards obviously know nothing about what they're legislating against. Feel free to mention paperwork/authorisation for transporting restricteds already exist, even better if you can show the paper with 'special conditions' yourself, assuming you're not some fucking pleb and actually own a restricted.

Conservatives hate O'Leary because his stance on firearms is nearly NDP-tier.

We have a bigger problem than the Firearms Advisory committee. According to Calibre Magazine, Mark Holland is the new Parliamentary Secretary for Public Safety (supporting Goodale). He fought against scrapping the LGR and made a bunch of retarded anti-gun statements in the process.

There is no such thing as an ATT anymore.

All Restricted Transfer conditions are built into one's license. All he really needs to do is check to make sure that the serial number of the gun is registered to him.

Hell, for that matter, the onus is mostly on him. The seller's ultimate responsibility is to initiate the transfer.

just curious on the technical aspects of this whole

>>32795281
I like the mandatory safety programs as well as the background checks.

I do believe that with such a harsh system in place we should be given a LOT more freedom then we currently have.

Mag restriction laws are fucking stupid, especially with all the loopholes in place that make a complete MOCKERY of the RCMP.

The Prohibited firearms list is a JOKE. To say that a 22LR AK look-a-like is a threat to national security is beyond unreasonable.. its insane.

We should be able to shoot our Restricted firearms on our private property without fear of being thrown in fucking prison.

Gun owners are second class citizens in this country. I hope that changes before we all decide to leave.
>>
As a canadian gun owner, I follow all rules and regulations both federal and local.

I follow all those rules to the letter, for transportation, storage, and use.

Despite all this, on my scale of "things that scare the shit out of me" are

1. Cancers
2. Heart diseases and strokes
3. Vehicular accidents (statistically, they cause more deaths and injuries in my demographic than almost everything else, but I don't drive a lot)
4. The RCMP, the CFO, and the Police
5. All other causes

As a gun owner, I fear these agencies so much because they have the power to end my life as I know it as effectively as cancer or a car crash. They might not actually end it physically, but being in jail or being ruined financially or otherwise detained is about as effective as being disabled in a hospital. Despite how I live without breaking any laws in any way, I know that just one mistake of the pen, just one officer misinterpreting the laws, and I'm screwed.

I hope the RCMP is in this thread, and that they can read this.

I hope they know they're horrible, and that they should feel horrible.
>>
>>32795379
>why? there really isn't any justifiable reason to ban them

The problem with banning them is that there are a lot of full-autos in canada that are worth probably about 20k+ that would be destroyed. No museum(s) would be able to afford acquiring them. Plus they'd still get cut up from any use.

You'd be surprised how many full-autos are legally owned in rural Ontario. Heck even in the cities. I remember hearing of a guy who collected Uzis in Toronto and had them all confiscated. Don't believe he broke any law in particular, he was just old and the authorities didn't feel that the public at large was safe with this old geezer with full-autos.

Ironically the Uzis found their way into a police officers collection. No license for them either.

Essentially you have one of three scenarios. Destruction, disabled, or "found" in the possession of people who bribed or rub shoulders with someone.

Mistake in wording then. Prohibited list becomes automatic rifles, that's the only thing in the category.

>>
>>32795636
I never got a new card. I called the CFP when all these changes were going down to ask how I go about getting my ATT attached to my license, and they told me that even though it may not physically say on my card that I have ATT, it's been automatically added to the database. Basically, police run my number, they see I have ATT built into my RPAL, like everyone else.

I like mine a lot and the surplus ammo is match grade. Corwin Arms has the original cardboard chargers.

When they were closing down Wholesale Sports here I bought like 8 bricks of GP11 ammo at half off the stick price. 480 rounds for less than $200.

200 isnt much and if you think it is i have bad news for you. Best budget i can can think of is primary arms scopes and redfeild scopes. Bushnell are alrighy.

There's also a stark difference between Layton-NDP and Mulcair-NDP.

Layton:
>against the LGR
>the worst thing he wanted to do was make licensing tougher

Mulcair:
>wishes to bring back the LGR (contrast that with the Liberals, who said they would no longer pursue the LGR issue, and the Green Party, whose stance on firearms is surprisingly harmless for a left-wing party)
>wants to ban handguns & "assault rifles"
>basically a stereotypical caricature of crazy anti-gun soccer moms

>so RPAL holders who received cards before the switch all received new cards?
Only if they purchased their *first* Restricted firearm *after* the switch.

As an example, I got my RPAL in 2014. I bought my first Restricted firearm in early 2015. The ATT fuckery of Bill C-42 didn't come into effect until mid-2015. When I bought my second Restricted firearm in 2016, I didn't get a new RPAL card, because this is not my first time buying a Restricted firearm.

Now, let's say there's another gentleman who had his RPAL issued in 2014. Let's say he didn't buy any Restricted firearms until last week. This guy would get a new RPAL card, because it's his first time buying a Restricted firearm since the changes were made to the law.

Pic related.

https://www.greenparty.ca/en/policy/vision-green/people/justice/guns

>As far back as 1934, legislation required the registration of handguns with records identifying the owner, the owner's address and the firearm, and the possession of legal handguns has always tightly restricted, coming close to a virtual ban. Contrary to popular misperception, there still is a registry for restricted firearms, including all legal handguns. The problem with handguns is due mostly to illegal handguns smuggled from the USA.
>Many concerned Canadians have asserted that the gun registry has helped keep law and order and save lives, and police officers across Canada have been divided on the issue. Many rural Canadians and First Nations people found the long gun registry (for non-restricted models of rifles and shotguns) onerous and discriminatory. We have always believed compromise was possible in reforming the registry to accommodate the concerns of legal gun users while ensuring that law enforcement agencies have the tools they need. We need to better balance these interests and ensure that Canadians are as safe as possible, without imposing ineffective or unreasonable restrictions on law abiding hunters and target shooters.
>We will ensure that law-abiding citizens pursuing legal activities in target shooting or hunting with long guns are free from unreasonable fees and the threat of criminalization.
>We will ensure law-abiding citizens do not have their firearms unreasonably confiscated
>Work with target shooting organizations to establish safe and protected locations where target shooting can be practiced.

This is surprisingly reasonable for them.

>>
>>32798544

i mean, wouldn't doubt it, but you gotta back your claims up
>>
>>32798491
The reasonable thing is to remove prohibited and restricted restrictions. Like all registration. Registration does nothing to inhibit/stop anyone from breaking the law. All it does is allow the slipper slope for confiscation.

>We will ensure law-abiding citizens do not have their firearms unreasonably confiscated

The fact that it could happen is unreasonable. As such registration needs to be abolished. They may not want to confiscate now, but what about in future years? With the system in place it only takes one instance where someone takes advantage of it.

>Work with target shooting organisations to establish safe and protected locations where target shooting can be practised.

You can do that by legalising suppressors. Giving us the option to attach devices to lower the sound as we can.

That would be reasonable. Plus the removal of magazine capacity limits. Which do nothing but have the potential of turning law abiding people into criminals. It forces unreasonable costs onto people and potentially result in people being put into prison.
>>
>>32798491

That must be a recent change. Their stance hasn't always been like that.

Until I actually see them support us, I don't believe them, though. The LPC "supports" sport shooters too, if you believe the bullshit they say while grabbing at our guns.

I reload it. 44c with a 178gr hornady bthp.

Bought the conponents at staff price. Still have 1200 rounds worth. Also got a bunch of randoms the manager uses to sell me dirt cheap when people would steal 4-5 leads out of a box of 100
>>
>>32800427

500 surplus round would probably last me 5-6 range trips but the initial investment isn't as easy to swallow as buying 1400 rounds of x39 for the same price.
>>
>>32800971
Larger round, larger price. This is pretty standard, given the increased material cost.

Thoughts on JR Carbines?

Seems to be a good way to get the customizability of an AR, without dealing with Restricted faggotry or 5 round mag limit.

Buy an AR pussy, Restricted isn't even bad, and you can buy 10 or 15 round mags for ARs.
>>
>>32801363
Different anon here, but I refuse to buy an AR out of principle.

I will gladly buy a semi-automatic, detachable magazine-fed, Non-Restricted rifle chambered in .223 Remington or .308 Winchester. Even if it's not as customizable as an AR, I would rather have that.
