Beretta 96s are 10K round pistols at best before the frame cracks. Whereas you can get 100K on a standard 92 frame.

The 96 was just a .40 shoehorned into a 92. The 96A1 alleviates some of the problems, but really why .40 anyway.

Replace and modify the trigger bar on any standard 92 and you get FA. Costs like 30 freedom bucks for the part. Why would you want to spend the extra money to mag dump 40 when you can mag dump 9 for next to free.

Not that guy and it's certainly not 10k rounds but you can ask the guys at berettaforums about .40 frame life and remember why the new dust cover came to be. They do .357 96 builds too but they know what they're getting to.

Even without that it's not worth it. Lots of guys put uppers on 96

Might be able to solve that slide weakness issue with a brig slide. I read the DHS put brig slides on their 96D to extend service life.

I personally feel the 92fs was designed for 9mm. the 96 was just to sell more guns. If you want .40 get a pistol that was designed ground up to be chambered in .40. Sig P229/226 are 9mm.40 interchangeable though. Barrel and magazine is all the change needed. Maybe you could look into them.
