Someone gave me this AR. Im gonna get rid of the cancer rails and get a Vietnam stock. I hate these new ar with tacticool rails and tiny lightweight barrels. Also hand carrier iron sights are master race.

You realize that the originals had pencil barrels, right?

I am not a huge fan of ARs but my favorite is my A2 repo. That's just plinking away. I have some tacticool ones just because collecting guns is fun.
Can't be sure you don't like em till you shoot em a good deal. It's not my flavor but not a bad gun.

you sound a little ungrateful and the handguard isn't a "stock". if you're going to make a clone, you'll have to do many parts swaps to be correct.
>I hate these new ar with tacticool rails
accessory rails have been around since the 40's. 1913 rails are new. if you don't use any accessories, they just add weight.
>and tiny lightweight barrels.
the original barrels were pencil profile and quite thin. newer barrels are almost all thicker and heavier.

carry handle. and there's two different kinds, the A1 and A2 (field sight and target sight).
the carry handle was ditched in favor of optics, an improved sling, and smaller, more efficient folding sights.

Im in my 20s and I'll take iron sights than some red dot cancer crap any day. I actually know how to use them and im more accurate with iron sights even at 500 meters. Of course your tacticool ar with 5 ich barrel wont even pass 75 meters.

If your going to swap out the hand guard, go proper or don't go at all

Congratulations, sweetheart.
Eh. I have a modern carbine but this Colt from 1978 is somehow more satisfying to shoot. Might be nostalgia. I'd operate with my tacticool, though.
