With Trump spending billions in the military and breaking nato (means the end of the obsolete 5.56mm nato) means a new caseless round might be developed? Imagine a caseless subsonic 6.5mm!

i can't even begin with how retarded your question is

No.

Is about time to get rid of that obsolete pee round.
6.5mm caseless is the damn future.

Weak b8
>>32774570
Arma is prophetic art, everything that in cold war and arma 2 happened IRL. Prove me wrong.
>>32774480
How do you go from abandoning 5.56 to caseless ammunition?
>>32774593
>American troops in Chernarus
aight, you got me

Imagine an OP not being a cockgobbling motherfucker

Cherno is Crimea and yes it was invaded by Russia. And yes China, Iran and Russia will form CSAT in the next few years tp wipe out weakened NATO.
RIDF incoming

There was a thread on arfcom about 16-18 months ago. A guy posted about his company at benning testing the caseless ammo guns. Tmhe said it was great, they actually got a few things changed because they got to soeak directly to the engineers on the project after every training event and range. Said they ran like champs.
They were testing a 5.56, 7.62 and 6.5 version. If I can find it, Ill post the link later, was bretty interdasting hombre.

Low quality.

>muh caseless
>pic cased
I don't see any real reason for caseless ammunition to be anything more than a distant back burner project. Cased-telescoped and composite cases are much more tangible and if there is going to be a shift, that's where it should be.
>>32774872
The bottom row in the pic related is the caseless ammunition.
I'd like to see a disintegrating case developed. You fire, a striker hits the rim, and the case is ejected through the rear while the bullet travels forward, the force of a rearward ejection would negate a lot of the recoil of the bullet.

You are a retard. It might be the future for GPMGs, but not for assault rifles by a long shot
So why is OP so retarded when it comes to caseless?
>>32775056
Why is that? I mean, I see cased telescoped 5.56 as more likely, but with the weight savings and the like, why not go up a bit in size, especially with something like caseless? Theoretically, anyhow.
>>32775433
The idea would be to use the weight savings to actually save weight instead of eating up those weight savings with a larger, heavier bullet. If 5.56 works well enough [and I'm not saying it does or doesn't], then a significantly lighter version of 5.56 would work even better.
>>32775507
Well. that's the idea. The weight savings between 7.62 and 5.56 are way bigger than 5.56 to 5.56 in theoretical composite telescoped cases, or maybe I'm seriously underestimating them. If not, then use the savings to up to a bigger bullet, and keep basically the same weight. 30 rounds of 6.5 vs. 30 rounds of conventional 5.56 at the same weight; why not take the bigger round?
Now, it really comes down to if one thinks the ballistic difference is enough, or if the 5.56 isn't enough (Which I hear a fair amount), but it's been tested. Wish I had an offhand link to that LSAT M4 test, it actually had 6.5, as I remember.

What is 'Frivolous spending that's not gonna happen' for 500 Alex?
>>32775798
And here's your answer:
HK 416 as new standardized issue.
>>32774761
That was with cased telescoped, not caseless.
