Is the 226 worth the money?
>>
I bought one... ohh around September or so. I love it. I've put roughly 1300 rounds through it already. It's accurate, (in my opinion) easy to clean, and shows little signs of wear.
Worth it.
>>
of course, what is this bait
>>
>>32773983
>Is the 226 worth the money?
As long as you're not paying more than $800 for one, sure. They are not worth the >$1000 MSRP.
>>
>>32773983
Yes if SAO.

Sig are more expensive than competition plus magazines cost twice as much as other gun mags
>>
>>32773983
>ETS
Absolutely not. Guns do the same thing: make a little piece of metal move really fast. Jennings, Jimenez, Bryco, Phoenix, Raven, and Lorcin is all you should ever buy. Hi-Points are too heavy for the price.
>>
IMO, no.
Sigs were great and worth the money, but in the past few years quality has dropped as they coasted along on reputation and advertising.
Strangely enough, their budget SP2022 is their one product which hasn't gone bad imo
>>
>>32774382
Hells, you can build your own 228/229 for less than $600 (80% from Matrix Precision, plus all the parts needed, slide, barrel).

>>32773983
Depends. I wouldn't spend a retarded amount for one with an anchor sticker, but they are absolutely worth a reasonable amount. I just bought a West German (1989 date code) for $450, and I consider that an absolute steal. Find one you like, because there are a fuckton of variations, and look at the used market.
>>
>>32774488

I heard that SAO trigger was much better than DA/SA and wanted to get myself one, but then saw this: http://sigtalk.com/sig-sauer-pistols/57659-sig-sao-could-get-you-killed.html

Too bad the video is now listed as private, and I can't find it again. The guy could reproduce the condition with 100% repeatability.

This isn't an argument. One of the main reasons you buy a Sig is because of the sweet double action trigger. Also, DA/SA shits all over SAO guns any day of the week.

I thought the USP was soooo cool when I was a teenager. When I was in high school and my sister was in college, she started dating her now husband. He was studying criminal justice and wanted to become a cop. He had a USP and that's how I knew their love was meant to be. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I was in the gun shop just looking around, and I was like, "oh shit, why have I still never fondled a USP?" I asked to see it, and I hated it and how it felt in my hand. Just wasn't the gun for me. I was so bummed.

Never meet your heroes.

dumbass. Actually shoot it. My Glock 19 feels like ass in my hands but I can fucking shoot it and it fits my criteria so I keep it.

Also, the P2000 exists. Something you fucking /v/irgins don't seem to know considering all your gun knowledge comes from metal gear faggot.

Just because you can shoot well with your shitty Glock doesn't mean ergos aren't important.
>>
>>32779769
This. And I own one.
>>32779787
Ergos aren't as important as how it shoots. Sorry, some people actually shoot their guns instead of looking and playing with them.
>>
>>32779810
>Ergos aren't as important as how it shoots.
Ergos literally ARE how it shoots. If you can't get a proper grip, you're going to shoot like shit.

I want a P226 but with no under picatinny rail. I tried google but just get old forum posts talking about a "Tribal" version which I can't seem to find any other information about.

Where should I look aside from sitting around, waiting for one to come up? Also, I'd prefer to go .40 S&W because I'm planning on converting it to .357 SIG and that's what is suggested.
>>
>>32779931
A German P226. The reason why you don't want a rail is something foreign to me.

> I'd prefer to go .40 S&W because I'm planning on converting it to .357 SIG and that's what is suggested.
>and that's what is suggested

Suggested by a retard. Do yourself a favor, stick to 9mm.
>>
>>32779981
Sorry I meant it's suggested to convert a .40 S&W to .357 Sig instead of converting a 9mm one.

I'm not a fan of rails on anything. I know I'll never mount anything on it, so why have it.
>>
>>32779931
An older West German P226 will get you that no-rail aesthetic without the wait as there are a couple trade ins are available on Gunbroker right now. None of them are in .40 though. I'd say probably because that cartridge wasn't popular in West Germany but I'm not entirely sure desu.

the trigger (not that bad to begin with besides the long reset) is a cheap easy fix

why anyone would want to limit the pistol to SAO doesnt even make sense. sounds like fudd retardation
>>
>>32779350

What's so good about the sig double action trigger? Not so much weight required compared to SA?
>>
>>32779981

I guess I can understand the no railz aesthetic. I kind of like it but I am happy with mine.

Anyone have a trigger for a 226 to recommend that is thinner/easier for small babbby hands like mine?
>>
>>32779769
Yeah age doesn't hurt guns.

Exeter p226's have external extractors, new ones all have rails, they have different sights, different finish, different grips, and the slide to frame contact is different or something because the rails get stripped of finish in a few hundred rounds and must be lubed with grease to prevent excessive damage. They are also not made by swiss.

So yes, they are SIGs in name only.
>>
>>32773983
Not really.
Lotta other $1,000 guns can outperform it.
Examples would be a Sphinx or Tanfoglio.

Not a bad gun, just not worth 1K
>>
>>32780784
Not the anon but to be facetious, an "aging W. German P226" isn't swiss made either
>>
>>32773983
God yes
>>
The only ones not worth buying are the limited edition marketing department specials that slap fiber optics, a lighter trigger, and tiger strips on the side for $300 more.
>>
>>32774909
>>32773983
This
USP is much better than even the legion 226
CZs are better too, as they cost less, have greater capacity, and build quality is similar to american sigs
So youre basically paying extra for the name
At least with HK its worth it
>>
>>32773983
Get an Arex instead. Almost identical aesthetics and ergos at almost half the price, plus they're just as if not more reliable.
>>
I want a P226, DA/SA, with a safety.
So I guess fuck me.
>>
>>32784889
I want one so bad. Local stores are just now getting them in, but they're all priced above msrp. I like how the hammer drop feels better known the Arex v the Sig. Also, I like the dual action slide release/hammer drop and the choice of carrying hammer down or cocked and locked. The manufacturing video from polenar is very impressive.

The tactical model looks sweet, with threaded barrel, suppressor sights, and slide milled for a red dot. Don't know the price point on it yet.
>>
>>32779847
the thing about humans is they can adapt
you dont need a perfect grip you just need good enough. you want perfect but that never exists.
>>
>>32784913
>So I guess fuck me

Yeah, fuck you. The DA trigger acts as a safety, you don't know what you want, like a woman.
>>
>>32780653
Graygun's adjustable trigger

https://grayguns.com/product/p-series-precision-adjustable-intermediate-trigger/

I bought the short reach trigger specifically for this but it's too thin and pinches your finger. Fucking hate the thing. E2 grips and the psait is godsend
>>
>>32785053
DA trigger isn't a safety just like a Glock double nigger trigger isn't a safety.
I know exactly what I want but the people who make them are Spaghettiniggers and whatever the fuck the proper insult for Czech people is.
>>
>>32785038
I never said it had to be perfect. don't put words in my mouth.
>>
>>32785113
Fuck you. Beretta 92 is designed to be carried safety off and you know it. That's why the decocker/safety goes the "wrong" way, so you don't flip it on by mistake.
CZ 75 is just dumb.

Some of us absolutely need the rails in the year of our lord 2017 for various reasons. That being said, if your siggy is still casting boolet and you're comfortable with it, what's the issue? Yeah? You can get a decent used on for 400-500 dollars. Newer model used ones go for 600-700. My lgs is selling new production MK 25s for 900 plus tax.
