He asked for the best *repro*, to be fair.
>repro

Why get a repro made off all cast parts when you could buy a blue sky for $750 and throw a new criterion barrel on it for another $150 and have an all forged carbine with history for less than the repro

Its true. Just get a USGI one for like $800. I inherited a Universal M1 from my grandpa right before he passed away. Its fun to shoot, accurate, but boy does it jam up about 3 or 4 times a mag. Would never get rid of it, but I just wished it worked properly

Did you check to see if your mag springs are installed correctly? I had the same problem with the new production magazines coming out of Korea. I flipped them right side up and now they function flawlessly.

Magazines result in the most problems for M1 Carbines.
Universal M1 Carbines, while not true reproductions, are generally the most reliable when using not-shit mags.
No, nobody knows why. They just are.

I got the M1 carbine made by Inland MKS and here's the rundown:
>sights are metal, but only the rear sight is adjustable
>wood stock looks and feels great, but MKS is engraved in the wood on the buttstock
>receiver is cast and I've scratched it a few times very easily because it's cast
It's alright, but I wouldn't say it should be worth $1000.
unless you find a deal just buy an original.
