It truly is--it missed the entire point of the first movie and the excuses made for a Nork invasion were laughable. Jed and Matt's deaths are truly heart wrenching even in a movie that's as silly as Red Dawn. And I mean that with affection--dat score too.

The kids in the newer one didn't have a speck of dirt on them throughout the entire flick. The fuck?

Paratroopers scene is genuinely retarded. It gets better later, but it suffers from being inconsistent both in tone and in portraying of antagonists. Almost like some parts were done by different people.

Action scence are decent albeit no very realistic.
