Ammo isn't cheap, clips aren't either and aren't the easiest to find, and they can be finnicky. They kick like a horse and use a unusual bullet diameter (.330) so Reloading decent ammo isn't the easiest either.
But they are fun as fuck. Just don't go into them expecting it to be a cheap ride like Mosins were a few years ago.

Hell mosins are hitting 300 nowadays and 54r is drying up so this seems like a sound purchase. Also where can I find ammo/ clips for this thing for a decent price?
>>32758073
Depends on what you call a "decent price". Liberty Tree has clips for about $10 per (after shipping). As for ammo the cheapest (and only) source is PPU, around $20/20.
Was there ever any surplus ammo for these on the us market?
>>32758138
Yes.. Austrian interwar, Bulgarian, Hungarian, and Nazi surplus ammo. All save Nazi were $0.50/round at one point
>>32758138
Yup. Still is here and there. Just not a lot of it. I have a couple boxes.

(You)
Just picked one up the other day with a box of nazi surplus ammo for $200
ALMOST bought one this weekend.
Perfect condition and everything matching
Then it came back from the check as stolen and no gun for me.

trips demands you to purchase

I couldn't say it any better. I never heard of it back when i was a 'newgunz' and bought it because it was 99$. The bolt was really sticky so just clean the shit out of it when you get it
>>32758114
thats what ive been paying for clips and ammo for the last couple of years. Havent seen it lower or higher than that really.
Its not and every range trip gun but I enjoy shooting it about 2-3 times a year

>Mosins drying up
The shop near my house has 2, the one in town has 3. The most expensive is the sniper one at 900. The rest are about 199
>300
I saw one in the paper for 99 bucks the other week.
>54r is drying up
Only a little, the aftermarket is keeping it steady. I just got 100 brown bear for only $60. Cleaning the corrosive shit isn't fun anymore anyways.

someone local is selling spam cans for $75.. payday needs to come quicker
>>32757999
They were about $80 - 100 in 2009 - 2010
Still didn't buy one because of ammo cost.
