Fair enough. Velocity from a Shield 45 is still about 1000 fps though, and for a 45 that isnt bad.

I would be happy with a mag or two at each range visit. All my other pistol are in 9mm. I have no motivation to be storing up on a 2nd pistol caliber.

With 10mm I would have like 50 rounds max stored away.

Exactly, hence why the muzzle velocity isn't affected too greatly. Plus, they make cartridges designed for shorter barrels (Hornady Critical Defense).

I would argue that for concealed carry most things beat a 1911. Other than concealed carry I agree with you though.

It's pretty decent, but if I wanted a single stack 45 with 5+1 capacity I'd just get an XD-S. Personal preference though, at least with the XD-S you have the option for a longer barrel and better sights out of the box.

despite having COMPACT on it's slab side it is not actually compact. It's got a cool factor, and it can be carried, but there are more efficient options.

That said I want to get a USP40 compact with LEM trigger for cool factor.
