I am considering purchasing a Sig Sauer P320 and wanted /k/'s opinion on it.
I have watched a few reviews on it and it looks like a fine piece of equipment.

Watch the MAC Test

Laugh at the dead serious retard comments screaming about "muh mud test"

Then buy it if you like it. Try it first in person.

One of the best striker fired guns out of the box. You really don't need to throw in any sort of aftermarket at it save for some nice sights.

What I really like about it is that you can experiment with stippling the grip and if you do screw up, you didn't ruin the actual "firearm" which is really nice.

Wow amazing, he rapidly killed people at 5 feet away

what a delta navy seal sniper ranger
>>
>>32757314
I've never shot one, and I prefer DA/SA handguns, but the US Army just adopted it, so it can't be that bad. The price seems pretty good.

Have the subcompact 9mm and full size 357 Sig. 9.5/10
>>
>>32757477
any more specifics?
>>
>tfw now that Sig is the new sidearm of the US military these guns will become as boring as the M9
it was fun while it lasted sigbros
>>
>>32757546
What do you want to know? My only complaint is the subcompact recoils spring has to be put in a specific way with because the washer at the tip isn't round. Beyond that they shoot great, it's nice being able to buy kits for them, and I prefer them to glocks I've had. This is the gun that got me in to 357 Sig. I like it.
>>
>>32757374
The point is to demonstrate the minimal effect of high bore axis on getting back on target.
>>
>>32757314
I love my 320 compact. Carry it everyday. One of the best striker triggers. Comes with night sights.

That's true.

High bore axis is negligible at point blank range.

The army chose it, so it can't be bad.

>high bore axis

http://www.gunnuts.net/2014/04/30/5-terrible-gun-myths-that-must-be-stopped/

"This one drives me nuts. I was reminded of it in a comment posted on FB on a picture of a Sig pistol, where someone said “the bore axis is too high for me” which is kind of like a 16 year old with a brand new driver’s license saying they don’t like how much body roll their mom’s Camry has in decreasing radius turns."

I always think of this quote when I see that lol
>>
I want a p320 but the fact that it's fully cocked striker fire makes me a bit nervous of it as a carry gun. If only it was DA/SA or had a Glock partial cock.
>>
>>32757314
Do it, I bought one today.

Me too. Complaining about high bore axis is an indication as to how little someone knows what they're talking about. There's people who will legitimately complain about high bore axis that can't even properly grip a handgun and on the other hand, praise the 1911 because of how shootable it is.

Yup, I said it. 1911's do have a high bore axis but nobody complains about how they jump out of your hand.
>>32757916
Get a Glock 19 with a gadget striker control device. It lets you thumb the backplate of your Glock similar to how you would do it to a DA/SA gun's hammer when drawing or holstering.
>>
>>32758198
I have seen those and I like the idea but I didn't know if I wanted a Glock and a Glock will be more than the p320 which I have seen on sale for around 400-420 dollars. I may get a Glock 43 even though I really didn't think I would be

Or maybe I'll go for a DA/SA, a revolver (like lcrx) or a striker like the p99as

Just uneasy about a 6 pound or 5 pound trigger with no safety or anything especially if it's fully cocked and especially since I'm new to carrying.

Have you considered a PX4 Compact?
>>
>>32758319
Yes actually. I'd like to get my hands on one and try it out but ranges here are pretty far away and have limited rentals.

I have a suspicion that I will really like shooting a Glock but I think I'd feel more comfortable with a revolver or DA/SA.
>>
>>32758333
I carry a Glock 19 but I have no real interest in upgrading it until I put ~2,000 rounds through it.

Really do try either a PX4 Compact or an HK P30SK with light LEM. LEM is the fucking tits.
>>
>>32758341
The lem is cool but basically exactly like a Glock just with a visible hammer.

It's precocked and about 5.5 lb pull from what I have heard
>>
>>32757732
if only this were true
>>
I'm trying to get answers to a comparison between the 320 adn the 250. Is DAO hammer vs striker fired really the only difference? I've also heard that the 250 can convert from 9 all the way up to .45, but that the 320 can only convert up to .40, adn the .45 model is a different firing control group.
>>
9, .40, or 45?

>>32758726
9

I hate high bore axis modern pistols, it's just a lack of efficiency, and there IS increased muzzle flip because of it, also the slide now obscures more of your vision too.

I also shoot circles around children like you two, I put more money into ammo in a year than both of you over the course of your lives.

All camo have to make some kind of compromise.
>>
>>32757314
what everyone else said, i carry the 9mm full-frame and i'm very happy, considering the price. it's an average gun in general, it's above average for striker-fired, the trigger isn't anything special, but at the price point it's amazing they pulled all of that off.

my single biggest complaint is that there's a hint of magazine rattle, and that's pretty easy to ignore.
>>
>>32757730
It means nothing at all since those guns recoil straight up while the others have some side twist. This is also only true when shooting .40 9mm it literally doesn't matter.
>>
>>32761429
>magazine rattle
tape?
>>
>>32761118
>muh bore axis
why does this argument always come from someone who then immediately proceeds to assert some unprovable i-am-better-than-you nonsense? why does that happen? why don't they name the gun they shoot with, the one with the lower bore axis?
>>
>>32761455
sure probably could, but like i said, so easy to ignore i don't even bother to "fix" it. it isn't really broken.

i did fail to mention, though, that because i also use the freebie holster that the gun came with, my OCD is triggered by the rattle. it sounds like the holster is loose, which does happen over time as the tension bolt backs off a bit. same thing though you could loctite that if you cared.
>>
>>32757992
I already do. The M9 is one of my favorite pistol designs ever. It's a bit bulky, but for military use it's perfect.

That said, I'm just glad they didn't choose a Glock. Though that said, seeing a Glock be subject to the same two decades of abuse that gave rise to the "M9 is unreliable" meme would be hilarious. Use the Glockfags' own memes against them.
>>
>>32757314
Garbage riding on the last waves of a name brand, that has gone the ways of Kimber, Remington, and Bushmaster.
