If you are honestly not trolling i can give you my opinion but that's all you can really get from anyone.
The AK47 was a better platform up until the last 2 decades where the AR platform became increasingly popular. It still is simpler but now that there is so much you can do with an AR it can literally be built to fill any role you can imagine. The AK47, while still perfect for its intended purpose, just does not have the flexibility that an AR platform has these days. Unless you can completely discount all AR variants but then it becomes more of a 5.56 vs 7.62 debate, and that is a whole different topic.
