Well you CAN buy a barrel for the SMLE however the milsurp barrels have all but dried up, you you're probably going to need to buy a brand new one.

It's not worth it. You have an Ishapore. Just buy a fucking Ishapore SMLE or 2A1 for 350 bucks rather than spend humongous amounts of money.

The ones that got turned into .410s got it for a reason. They were all shot-out rattletraps (just like the grenadier models).

You COULD change the barrel/bolthead and go back to .303 after making sure there's no stock rattle, or other fit issues, but for what it would cost you could probably eat another $100 and just buy a separate .303.

Yeah I don't think the cost of the new barrel and work is worth it. Keep it as is, a fun little .410 shotgun.

Yes. And it is mostly a simple barrel change. However I can almost guarantee you will need to purchase a new barrel, which will run at least $300. Then throw in gunsmithing costs and you just paid more to convert the rifle back to its original configuration than you would spend to buy on in original configuration.

For ~$400 you could have had an actual .303 or .308 enfield. You're going to have to buy a new barrel, get the old one off, then put the new one on. Much harder than it sounds. Check Sarco and all the other parts places for them or simply google "LE Barrels"

That just means yours were converted. Many of them were since .303/.410 round ball ammo wasn't exactly common when these were being imported.

I have one (bottom). they are good shotguns, they'll shoot whatever (at least mine does) but be careful with really cheap shit because the case wont extract properly if the brass expands. keep a flathead screwdriver on hand if you're trying out different ammos

OP here, I had a wild idea, can this thing shoot 45 long colt? I heard that they're interchangeable in a judge pistol. Would be cool if I wanted to use it to hunt with.
