- Glock 19 sized
- Literal clone of Glock with miminal patent changes
- M&P sights dovetails
- $20 legacy magazines (SW9/SD9)
- S&W's excellent CS & life time warranty
- Shit trigger can be fixed with $30 Apex kit
- 1913 Pic Rail
- Better ergos than Glock.
- No accuracy issues like M&P9 full size
- $275-$300 new in the box

The Sigma was dog shit, but S&W did a complete 180 with the SD9VE. Its your American Glock 19 clone at 1/2 the price.

Weird but I have never heard of this gun before. How does it point? Reliability in your opinion?

it's a discount glock with an even worse trigger and quality control
>>
>>32735506

It's S&W's poorfag pistol, but it's actually really good. It's basically a G19 with S&W ergonomics.

With a shitty trigger and subpar grips. For the money it's hard to beat but don't lie to yourself. I own both and the 19 is superior. It's a good beginner handgun but doesn't compete with the 19 in a few areas.

>- Shit trigger can be fixed with $30 Apex kit
it doesnt fix it it just gets it to passable
>- $275-$300 new in the box
this is the only reason people buy these. its a good enough reason if you are dead broke and need a gun now but they arent enjoyable to shoot.
if you compare it to a glock its just sad
the og sigma you are shitting on was actually an ok piece. the trigger on those is ok cause they copied glock(and got sued) the polymer deteriorated but that was decades ago and they hand perfected polymer yet.

the sigma you think is dogshit is the sw9ve/sw40ve which was okay except for the the trigger that was really fucking heavy 10-15 lbs. despite the trigger the sw9ve sold like hotcakes since it was 250-300 held 16 rounds and came with 4 magazines. it came with 2 and for the longest ass time smith had a mail in rebate than gave you another 2 free.
back then there was no canik or other 300 highcap guns on the market. the sv was a hell of a deal.

the sd has a lighter trigger compared to the sv but its still pretty bad compared to anything else hell the m&p triggers are still garbage.
dunno why you would pick it when youve got other options in that price range
>>
>>32735624

Hence why it is underrated as fuck for a $300 Glock clone with good cheap mags and excellent warranty.

A Glock costs $75 to make and MAP is $500. The SD9 probably costs roughly the same to make, and can be bought on sale for 1/2 the price.

It's not better than a USP, but it holds it own against the vast majority of polymer frame pistols.
>>
>>32735635
>9mms can't even fucking extract and eject correctly anymore
I bought mine in Q4 of 2016 and works perfect. I would expect to see threads about these supposed problems but I don't. the only one in recent memory was some fag shotgunning rounds when he loads it
>>
>>32735674

My shitty Glocks were made in 2007-2015

8 years of shit QC, and still flat out denial there was a problem..... just like with the Phase III NYPD errors.
>>
>>32735671
>It's not better than a USP
ehh, I've owned a USP and they aren't all that great. sold it. still own and EDC my Glock 19
>>
>>32735685
I had a Glock 30 made in that time period, and it was fine with anything other than whitebox 185s. those it used to try an put the brass in my shirt pocket. I only sold it because it was this weird little brick thing.

>>32735671
do they still make those anymore, or do you have to buy some poorfag's 2nd hand garbage to get one?
>>
>>32735654
>"The company was founded in 1985 and is based in Smyrna, Georgia. Glock, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of GLOCK Ges.m.b.H."
Glock Inc is the importer. Not the manufacturer. They're still made in Austria and it's printed in bold letters on the right hand side of the gun on the grip. The US Glocks also don't have a tennifer finish like the Austrian ones. Learn to import firearm laws.
>>

Tfw that was me who made that thread
>>
>>32735713
The SD9VE?

They still make it, and you can even get it in CA. It's super fucking popular here, for obvious reasons.
>>
>>32735720
is Glock an internationally traded company with manufacturing in the US, or not?

is American Outdoor Brands Corporation an internationally traded company with manufacturing in the US, or not?

what is the difference?
>>
>>32735723
did you ever get your issues settled?
>>
>>32735671
>Hence why it is underrated as fuck for a $300 Glock clone with good cheap mags and excellent warranty.
I'm not going to argue with you there. It's a damn good pistol for the price and of the ~50 I have sold I have never seen one come back for repair. Just be prepared for a gritty long trigger pull and mine doesn't like to hold open on empty mags. It's not that big of a deal but training new shooters is a bit difficult when they have to manipulate the slide release on their own.
>>
>>32735741
Well, it was mostly just the weak ejection not throwing the round very far. Some anon said the extractor is fine as long as it's not chippied or broken. It doesn't look damaged anyways, I was thinking of getting a new extractor anyways though. I haven't shot it since.

It seems reliable I guess. I'm not blaming glock or anything since it goes bang everytime, not a huge problem

ITT OP bought that shitty handgun and is now pulling some sort of buyers remorse damage control trying to get people to tell him that the gun is good when in reality it isn't
>>

Smith & Wesson handguns are made in Springfield, Massachusetts and Glocks are made in Austria and Georgia.

We sell a lot of these at my store. I don't think I've had anyone complain about reliability. The sights may mount the same as M&P sights, but they aren't the same.

not op, but i have one and it's just a good gun for a great price, only complaint is the trigger and the overall appearance isn't my favorite.
>>
Friend of mine has the SD40VE (idk why he picked .40, but whatever, it's the same gun). Overall it really is a pretty great value for the price. Broke it down and it legitimately is a Glock clone, I'm not sure how they continued production after getting sued. Only major complaint is the trigger really is garbage, it's like a wet sponge.

It's not a great gun in itself, but it's definitely a great value for what it goes for. Out of all the "budget" carry guns (sub $400), I'd for sure recommend it since it gets the job done reliably (fired ~200 rounds of cheap WWB through it and had no issues) for cheap.

>>
>>32735735
Glock HQ is in Austria, smith and Wesson is HQ in America. Apple and Nike might make all their shit in china but they are still American company because they are located here. The only company that is from a foreign country that is domestic is kalashnikovUSA and that's just because we can't import Russian firearms
>>
For those complaining about the sigma trigger pull there is a mod that you can do that'll pretty much cut the trigger pull resistance in half without sacrificing reliability. No kit or parts needed either.

It really, really isn't. It's a $300 poly striker budget S&W and you'd never mistake it for anything else. It's a half-assed product and you know it. People only care about SW semi-autos now because the M&P's were good. If you want a good budget poly for 300 get a Canik or a Ruger.
>>
I have an SD9 VE it's pretty good for the price however:
>Guide rods plastic.
>Rear sight is plastic and dots are painted on.

Still for the price 8/10

I have one. I like it a lot for what it is. Never failed me. Wouldn't mind getting a steel guide rod....where are these $20 magazines though?

But why if m&p exist?

For this to convince him, he would have to have ever held one.
>>
>>32739986
It's cheaper. M&P just has a few gucci extras like backstraps.

For a normie the SD9VE is perfectly fine.
>>
>>32739986

The M&P9 FS has been plagued with issues since Day one. S&W has fixed them with the M2.0, but $500.

The SD9VE isn't the "best" 9mm, it is just horribly underrated. It's a case of perceived quality based on pricing despite all Tupperware pistols are cheap as fuck to make.
