i recently got a pietta colt navy in .44
i havent shot black powder at all, what am in for?
I think that's a good deal assuming it's in decent shape
It's literally the strongest BP you can buy, and you can get a conversion cylinder for 45 colt and have no fear of it plowing up with smokeless loads. I would if it's in good shape.

Just bought one too. Too bad the bolt spring broke and I'm waiting on a replacement from Pietta.
Cheap price for an ruger old army. Payed the same for my pietta 1858.

Lots of smoke. Lots of cleaning.

hi /bpg/, I recently shot my 1958 in anger at some feral dogs which were threatening me and my buddy.
I didn't asked what kind of terminal velocity his vicious little skull felt, because he switched from front to side once shot, and the others fleed like bitches.
Anyway, TLDR, 1858 a best for warning shots and every other shots.

Did you hit him?

I sure did, I splattered this little junkie fuck all over the forest.
And when I say junkie it's exactly what I mean, abandonned dogs high on drug-enriched poop.
Apprently some hobos live in the woods so here's that.

This. I love shooting my repro. 1860 Army, but it gets really dirty. Hell of a lot of fun, though

You'll have a good time with it. When you shoot it, bring something to occasionally wipe the inside of the hammer and hammer track after shooting a bit. It can get gunked up and the hammer might not set off the percussion cap
