Is this a practical plane?

Mostly. It's basically a pusher with two props. Angle is a bit extreme, but anime and whatnot.
Backfiring into your propellers is not a good thing though.
No because it has...
FUCKING ROTORS

Royal Space Force: Wings of Honneamise
Those webms are pretty much the only /k/ related stuff (combat) in the entire movie.

thanks anon
That's such a /k/ movie. Don't care if there isn't much combat.

you forgot the awkward scene where the main character tries to force himself on the equally awkward Christefag girl, or would that be /r9k/ ?

Mostly.
The propellers would interfere with one another and reduce thrust while the wings seem a bit small for something that size.
In short, not the best designed plane but it should actually fly. Probably.

God I loved working on the Merlin.
Nothing like what you feel when running that engine up.

When animation is on point, it's epic. Unfortunately, this is the exception rather than the rule as high quality like that is Expensive and needs top tier art directors so you usually end up with pretty crappy stuff up until the 2000s with CGI taking most of the load off.

the americans developed something like this but it never made it past the drawing board/prototype phases.
