Can someone explain why so many people believe this? When I got my hands on a tavor, I was shocked at how good the trigger was compared to the seemingly unanimous hate for it. It's a short pull, it's a clean break, it's just heavier than usual.

For what it's worth, I think the grip-safety is out of place on the 1911 as well, the Argentinians and Spaniards had the right idea with removing it on their variants.

Personally, I don't think the XD is by any means bad, but I just don't feel that you need more than one safety on a pistol, either a trigger safety, or a manual safety. Grip safeties feel more at home on open-bolt subguns to me.

Browning did not want a grip safety or exposed hammer, he only added them because thats what the military wanted. It has been debated if he even wanted a manual safety.

Had he had it his way the 1911 would have been a larger more robust 1903.

HB with an FF stock, Harris Bipod and a simple Leopold 3-9x (I know, under-glassed) but I could shoot dimes all day with it. Traded for a USP45 and cash but I do regret it. Didn't even like the USP that much, gun was nice but polymer frames and .45 ACP just don't mix well for me.

It's really not a problem when shooting while standing, but it becomes really bad when bench resting. I don't know if it's just me, but it almost feels like I have a totally different gun when I do either with my AUG.

Also, there's the "match grade trigger" meme, which causes people to think the lighter the better even if its less than a pound.

Well my complaint about the Tavor is the the button you push to take the magazine out is located literally directly behind the grip of the gun.

So basically while holding the gun you can accidentally bump against the button behind your hand and you will disconnect the magazine from the gun.

Which is a major red flag for me really.

I have one cuz I bought it off a neighbor for half price.

Exactly the problem they were looking to address. Under stress you may not remember where to grip the gun. With the patented GripZoneâ„¢ technology the user simply has to look down at the gun, see the words GRIP ZONE across the handle, and knows exactly where to grip during a firefight.

They're working on a CockZone patent as well.

They're really not all that well made.

>magazines seize up with just a spec of dust
>can absolutely not fire anything heavier than 124gr or the frame will begin cracking
>in general are incredibly picky with ammo, even when they were new the manual would come with a list of suggested brands and makes (with a warning against using reloads)
>firing pin and extractor are known for breakage
>sights are often offset or crooked (though it would shoot very straight)
>many internal parts are made from zinc or zamak

They're cool, but they're regarded as junk for a reason. The older KG9 (open bolt semi-auto pistol), and KG99 from when they were Interdynamics are a lot nicer. Not amazing, but not nearly as sorry as the Intratec brand.
>>
>>32724799
The entire gun was designed to give the finger to the rest of the combloc, not have common parts with the AK and to have BHO. Why the fuck would they then turn around and start to use mags for the weapon they wanted to avoid in the first place.
>>
>>32724570

Other then using proprietary mags, the VZ is based.

That argument is stupid, please educate yourselves before posing as adults on a 18+ board.
The vz58 has a bolt hold open which is damn handy, even if you ignore that it allows you to speedload the shit out of a 30rd mag with stripper clips.

Hi Point. I'm serious. I don't own one and they are ugly, clunky, etc and you can definitely do better. Trigger is well beyond shit, it's "combat rifle accurate" (2.5-3 MOA with match ammo) despite being advertised as MOA or better, ergonomics aren't great, expensive AF, no real aftermarket and what aftermarket there is is expensive AF, cant into bench or prone shooting, IWI that isn't IMI which isn't the IMI of the 90's trying to ride IMI-of-the-90's' reputation (this is separate from da joos)=shit company with shit CS.

And of course,
>da joos
>>
>>32720649
It's gritty and heavy with a mushy, long reset (trigger is 99.9% forward before it resets).

The only aftermarket triggers cost 20-30% of the MSRP of the whole gun and still aren't great compared to AR triggers from the same companies.
>>
>>32742292
>"combat rifle accurate" (2.5-3 MOA with match ammo)
That IS perfectly acceptable for a combat rifle, but they shouldn't advertise it as sub MOA then.
>>
>>32742501
That's the problem. Both the Tavor and the X95 are built specifically and exclusively for the civilian sport shooting market.

They lie about its accuracy, and it's unacceptably inaccurate for civilian sport shooting.
>>
>>32742501
What he didn't mention is that it's more like 7-8 MOA with bulk ammo. Literally-worse-than-beat-to-shit-AK tier.
>>
>>32742565
I wouldn't say it's outright unacceptable, but an M&P-15 can shoot those groups and that's a $500 rifle
>>
>>32742585

No fucking way, I need some citation to that, it can't be THAT abysmal, an old 180 series Mini-14 can shoot tighter groups than that.
>>
>>32742590
>I wouldn't say it's outright unacceptable
I would.
>but an M&P 15 can shoot those groups
If an M&P 15 is not 1.5 MOA or better with match ammo, it's a lemon and needs to be returned/repaired under warranty. My Sport II is a 0.9 MOA gun with Black Hills 68gr Heavy Match and shoots AE xm193 into about 1.6"

>>32742602

Also, MAC10 and UZI variants....
>>
>>32721297
how did you do that
>>
>>32744785
People who hate on the 92 usually do for absolutely retarded reasons.

>muh safety
Sits perfectly fine where you are, it's nearly impossible to engage the safety when racking the gun.

>2 big tho
It's perfectly fine in size unless you are a little girl.

>nuuh, double action is TOO HARD
Forgetting that you can literally cock the hammer and have single action.

>muh uncle was in muhreens, he say dey bad
Forgetting that 25 years of neglect and abuse will do that to his favorite gun too.

Is this what happened to the Mk. 19s and the M249s?

Xd/Xds owner here. I'll defend that shit til the day I die, they're workhorses to the nth degree. I'm actually kind of spoiled by how smooth they work.

Basically.

I can't speak for the Mk.19, but the M249 is a pretty excellent weapon, provided it's been maintained and treated well.

If they replaced the worn out M249s with Mk.46 Mod 0s then they'd make an excellent choice, the NATO magwell is a silly idea anyway, the action runs way too fast for it to work reliably, might as well make the gun lighter.

The desert eagles
I actually really love my eagles and they shoot great if you actually try. Everyone spews the same crap about how they have no point and it's too much recoil.
It's a cannon that's you hold with one hand, it's a magnum semiauto, it's a history piece, it's the most powerful semiauto in the world.
Fuck your short sighted, glass wristed, no balls play small views.

Anyone who says they have too much recoil has never shot one, or they're recoil shy and have only shot a .50 once

I know that feel of hate.

KAC made a much better silenced revolver.
The fact that the Nagant can be silenced doesn't really take away from all it's flaws.

>>32746191
You can do that with an automatic too, it's called picking up the casing.
Or holding the slide closed.
Or use something fitted with a brass catcher.

The a2 is actually a decent firearm, according to most people who post on here.

The original and the a1 are well-documented at being hot garbage, though
