Ruger 10/22 is always the first gun to get.

Most of my purchases were "opportunistic buys," meaning I waited until deals came up or I saw a price I liked and I snagged them up. My PTR 91 and Zastava M76 are the only ones that come to mind where I said "I'm saving money and buying these."

However, I am holding off on gun buying until an FN 49 in 8mm comes up for a fair price.

It probably depends on what you're into, too. I love milsurp and I bet 75% of my 30ish firearms are milsurp or police surplus. I've only bought a few guns that were brand new. But yeah I'm rarely dead set on something where I'm willing to buy it ASAP even if it means over paying, I just wait for a fair priced gun to come up.

Im pretty into milsurp, come from poorfag and fudd roots so thats all i knew for a long time. Im just in permenant panic buy mode now because i realized i had been taken from 20 ish guns when i was 18 down to literally 1 when i was 21, so now i buy as many as i can when i can.

next would be a surplus bolt action that I'd get running well and learn how to hand load

after that, pretty much whatever I feel like. I mostly just regret making bad purchases when I was just getting into guns.

I didn't have any friends who were in to guns at the time, and I didn't want to go to the gun store by myself as a newbie, so I did some research and bought a FNX9 online as my first handgun.

Decent enough gun, but just not very comfortable for me. Wish I would have actually held some before buying one.

Left home, lived with friends, moved away for work, then joined the military. When i finally got back in touch with my family i got a bunch of excuses and awkward replies, turns out most of them were assumed to be my dads and sold when my parents divorced. I managed to save 4 of them, one of which was an heirloom, and had to sell them when i got in a financial bind. My tok is the only one that made it this far, mainly because nobody would buy it, so even though she's kind of a shit its my favorite fun.

Currently nogunz, hoping to get a .44 mag lever action rifle and become a cowboy.

.22 will be my second rifle, but I want something cool for my first.

i would buy some of the more affordable guns back first. in no particular order: an ar, an ak, glock pistol, 870 shotgun, mauser.
then i would swtich to nicer, more uncommon guns: fn fnc, steyr aug, ar180, colt sp1, etc.

I really liked everything else about it though.

Spend less money on baby killing guns and more milsurp bolt action rifles. Despite the higher price per round i find them much more satisfying to shoot in many ways.

Get a scar 17 back when they weren't overpriced as fuck instead of ar15s, 5.56 is boring to shoot and 7.62 isn't as unreasonably expensive as my poorfag self thought at the time.

Hopefully the 17 will come back down in price soon.

I would restart with the one that started it all, my Uberti Walker. From there I'd still have bought my Pietta Remington 1858 but for my first rifle I think I would have picked something a little more interesting than an AR-10

I own 0 firearms but have looked into starting several times primarily for ranges/courses

Start with a Ruger 10/22 takedown
Then a 22lr pistol to go with it to share ammo & differentiate at the range (P22, SR22 or GSG/ATI 1911)
Then a cheap reliable break action shotgun
Also maybe a Kahr if I ever wanted something for self defense.

I would have not bought a keltec su-16. ARs are just better.
Instead of a keltec sub 2000 i would have got a polish radom ppsh-43.

Where do I start? So much would change because I got a lot of these when the getting was really good, or ammo was ridiculously cheap due to cheap 545 surplus that hasn't been cheap since the end of 2010. Or like the 1v rpk, it's just unobtainable about an hour after russian sanctions were put in place.

I'd probably skip the 10/22, 870, 177 pellet rifle entirely. I never use the 22lr rifle or 177 pellet gun much since getting my 22cal pellet rifle.
I'd get my favorite 3 guns right away, in the order of usefulness. vz58, vepr12 instantly, and psl as soon as I could afford it. I'd probably get my durr gun krb7 muzzleloader the first year before the season starts. Then I'd get the 545/556 guns again asap after that to complete my calibers again. I'd go with an arsenal ak-74 instead of original barrel kit gun, but not sure if I'd ever be able to get the 1v rpk again. I might have to settle for an slr106 since that doesn't cost 2-3k even "if" if get lucky enough to find one.
I'd get the rest again too, but in no particular order.

I would have gotten the $450 WASR and the $100 91/30 from the dumb chick of facebook and I would have made more of an effort to get the Model 1200 from the dindu 20 minutes away

Other than that I would do everything the same
