I love that Kel-Tec makes interesting guns that fill a niche in the market, but I hate that they aren't willing to take any financial risks in order to expand. They also seem to have the sort of problems you would expect from any small family run company such as employing people to do jobs they aren't qualified for because of their relationship to the owners.
I would place good money on the manufacturing and QC issues that Kel-Tec has a reputation for are mainly due to incompetent employees hired out of nepotism.

Honestly I would love for Ruger to buy Kel-Tec and run them as a subsidiary maintaining all branding but bringing in money to expand and competent employees to oversee manufacturing and QC.

pretty much sounds just like them. they got a good gig going, and with flimflam giving them publicity, are making fucking bank selling $7 worth of PVC (mould costs per unit) and $20 of steel for 10x that amount.
