thread for all the cool and spoopy things the CIA and their agents used to do
some stuff I know
>agents putting a bullet in their ear so when they get captured they could smack the back with their handcuffs and set the bullet off and kill themselfs.
this was before cyianide was invented.
>filling captured enemy weapons with chewing gum and releasing them back to the vietcongs so when they use them they explode

they also made cross cuts in 5.56 bullets in vietnam so when the bullets hit they would expand into starfish like fragments thats when the government designed the bullets to fragment more because they saw how effective it was

>bullet in ear
Won't fit
>before cyanide invented
Synthesized in the early1800's
>primer set off with hand cuffs
Not possible
>a bullet, outside a chamber to direct gasses, being lethal.
Nope, worst is a ruptured ear drum.
>chewing gum causing catastrophic failures of firearm
Nope.
>fragmentation is effective
Nope, FBIs study on bullet wounding effects states quite the opposite, for immediate incompasitation. Fragmentation can cause issues in the long run for a wounded individual, but that's worthless to increase chances of infection and complication due to it, that takes days or weeks, when you need to drop them before they shoot you back in the next few seconds.

that would injure someone more than kill them. the bullet doesn't just travel 1500 ft because the primer is detonated, OP.

Yeah, because they've never been full of shit before...
>>
>>32702175
>trying this hard
Some pistol rounds will fit, but that doesn't adress the problem of ot not being lethal.
The primer is struck (most likley cant be set off by "handcuffs") and the powder detonates, releasing energy, and gas, creating pressure.
Now, when loades into a gun, the path of least resistance is pusing the bullet into the barrel, and out the muzzle, with all the pressure behind it.
If a round goes off outside of a firearm, 1. The path of least resistance is to push the much lighter case away, not the bullet, as well the pressure is allowed to escape in 360 degrees.
Non-retards have known that a bullet cooking off outside a firearm is harmless for quiet some time, while nearly everyone else has learned this from muthbusters and/or youtube.
So the real question is are you this absurdly retarded that you belive it works, or just mostly retarded thinking this would be a good troll?

>filling captured enemy weapons with chewing gum and releasing them back to the vietcongs so when they use them they explode

What an amazing assortment of bullshit you've collected, anon. To begin with, cyanide has been around for a lot longer than the CIA or the OSS.

Secondly, that bullet in the ear thing sounds wildly improbable. If an agent gets captured, you would think that the captors would remove things like ear bullets and all of the other Maxwell Smart trinkets.

Regarding captured weapons in Vietnam, this is the first time I've ever heard of them being filled with chewing gum. What I did hear is that they would empty the powder out of a casing, refill with C-4, reseat the bullet and load the round into a magazine, about halfway down. They also short-fused grenades and mortar shells, so that they would explode as soon as the spoon was released or they were fired.

This kind of stuff is interesting. I remember years back when Iraq was still going hot and there were all those reports of salted weapons, in particular mortars.

I remember there's also a neat thing they used in 'nam where it was essentially particle board with a ton of fire crackers and explosives stuck to it that were arranged such that when they went off it sounded like a firefight was going on for five minutes or so. I wish I had the image on this comp, I'll try to post it when I get home.
