GUYS

I have a question. If you could only own one handgun, would it be a glock 19 or USP 40 compact?

I dont trust /k/ its infested with nogunz, I only trust /arg/.

>>
>>32699833
The glock would be more practical desu
>>
>>32699405
So I want to get a suppressor. While researching, I saw the gemtech suppressed bolt carrier. Where apparently a regular bolt carrier would damage/be damaged due to the extra gas being sent back at a higher velocity. Whereas this has a valve releasing said gas to protect me. What I want to know is that is this a meme? Will I be okay with my regular spikes tactical bolt carrier?
Pic related is the switch that opens and closes the gemtech' valve

Your second answer is half right.
If it has to be between those two, get the glock for all the aftermarket and because it's in not .40. USPs are hard to shop for sometimes, but the 9mm and 45 models are nice. Of the .40 models, the USP and USPc aren't bad and shoot more like a 9mm, but I just don't care for .40.

You wanna buy my USP40?

I've got one of the Faxon rails. Thoughts:
- relatively heavier than other options
- the hex barrel nut is a weird size and it doesn't come with a wrench
- upper receiver aligning tabs are squared and slightly sharp, can catch on shit and dig into skin

but it's got 7 sides of mlok and I like it.

Bahahaha listen to the Colt rep start spilling spaghetti about re-tooling and limited production when asked point blank what the fuck justifies $2500 for an A1 repro.

InRange based as usual.
>>
>>32702009
Everyone thinks that they can into aesthetics.

>>32702032
What justifies it?
People will buy it, but not enough at that price for a full run. So limited edition.

Next year come out with the a less limited edition model at $500 less. Guess what comes out the year after that if demand stays steady

Cold literally bought up 99% of the surplus A1 kit market to pull this off. They are not re-tooling much of anything like their company rep tried to assert. They are assembling old parts kits, cleaning them up and selling them at a fucking ridiculous price because there are still enough retards out there who will pay it for the "Colt" branding.
>>
>>32702093

how bout 200 shipped with the FSB, i can throw in a delta ring/milspec barrel nut/front hand guard cap if you have a use for them

>>

No, they chose the 3 prongs because the retards who will pay the premium are the same retards who go on arfcom and yell "REEEE THAT BIRDCAGE IS NOT ACCURATE" even though it was for a majority of the M16A1s ever issued.

Colt sold off most of their old tools g the first go around with bankruptcy, I forget where most of that shit went but most of it was wore the fuck out and out of spec anyway.

They only have so much floorspace for shit, and in today's age they outsource that shit anyway. There's only a few foundries left making receivers for every manufacturer.

The m16a1 costs so damn much because they paid out the nose for someone else to tool up for the project.

I smell Colt bullshit. Modern CNC machines have small footprints and very high production rates. With CNC there's not an insane amount of tooling to produce any firearm, and you can CNC many of your fixtures etc on the same machining center you produce with.

You catalog them and keep them. I've got tooling from the 60's stored that make original Huey parts. Tooling is too expensive to fabricate to just throw them away, although if they fell on hard times I can see selling them if you're about to go completely under.
>>
>>32702188
Only early E1s should have come with the improved 3 prong. If the Marines got leftovers that's fucking hilarious. Fucking Colt.

I woulda liked one for my build but they're not really correct for block I
>>
>>32702469
>something you'll never make or support again
You'd think that. And you'd be wrong. For example...Colt doing what they're doing. Or all the old designs of parts we still manufacture to keep craft in the air and some of the parts that were designed in the 60's, never changed and are still used so we just keep on letting the chips fly.

One of the really interesting things is when you have a part designed way back then and we are still making them for use in completely new models of craft that were designed in just this past decade.
>>
>>32702501
>You'd think that. And you'd be wrong
How would I be wrong? They haven't made 3 prongs in 50 years, for instance. They haven't made A1 uppers in over 35.
>For example...Colt doing what they're doing
They bought a bunch of old surplus.
> Or all the old designs of parts we still manufacture to keep craft in the air and some of the parts that were designed in the 60's, never changed and are still used so we just keep on letting the chips fly.
We're talking about small arms here, not multi-million dollar aircraft.

don't get me wrong, i appreciate trijicon optics but i just feel they excel in a different area than what nightforce and leupold do.

it's going to be a very nice quality scope. i can't speak for the reticle.

Would pic related be good for saving money on ammo while keeping muscle memory familiar with the AR platform? Or is it just tacticool garbage? Keep in mind I've already had a marlin 60 for 20 years. This would primarily be a cheap AR training tool.

I have 2 questions guys.
> I have approx $350 to spend on gun parts right now and want to upgrade my ARs rail. MLok prefered, suggestions?
Try to keep it under that amount, please.

> What mag pouch to attach to my Mayflower? Been looking at the Monkey Stomper to carry 4 on my chest at all times, any other suggestions?

Went shooting this weekend with a guy who was running a SIG Suppressor on his AR that had a 16" barrel, carbine length gas system.

For some reason shooting with the suppressor crippled his gun to a single shot. He had to rack the charging handle after every shot. We swapped his buffer spring with an almost new one, made no difference. Change mags, no difference. Used a chamber brush on his AR, it cleared about 1/2 a mag before it started doing the same thing again.

I told him I thought he'd probably over-oiled it and the fouling from all the carbon was clogging up his chamber/BCG, but he said he didn't think that was the issue.

Not my rifle, not my problem, but what do you guys think his issue would have been?

Glock 19.
>>
>>32699849
It increases bolt velocity. If your gun is not a piece of shit, you should be fine. If you were running shitty mags, it could result in bolt over malfunctions.
