If it hits you in the head, then there's a problem.

Weak ejection isn't so much of an issue - some guns just don't eject as strongly as others - but erratic ejection can put an eye out in a self-defense situation, and is therefore considered a problem.

Your guns ejection pattern will "break in", maybe you've hit that point.

With wonder 9s and similar I find it's around 5k rounds.

I also recently found out that you're not to supposed to "shotgun a round" by dropping a round directly into the chamber to get your +1 and then pinball it closed. I did this quite a few times probably 20. Could this have fucked my shit up?

I got a new Gen 4 G19 last week and experienced some pretty weak ejection on it too.I was using 124gr Speer Lawman. Some BTF but 250 rounds with no issues in terms of reliability.

I too have a Shield and it ejects pretty damn strong and consistent.

Yes. I don't know the exact why but doing that can cause your ejector or extractor (I forgot which one) to break. If you're going to load it, load it as you normally do and just top the magazine off.

20 times, you could definately get away with doing it but avoid doing it in the future.
