post your best targets and rate other's targets
show off a bit, yeh?
>>32685541
Today's best group, 10 shots @ 7 yards
>>32685724
I also took the test. Passed barely.
>>32685541
25 yards offhand with my Glock 40 MOS
>>32685724
>7 yards
what's the point?
>>32685807
My goal is to put 10 shots in the little red circle.
So far I've never done more than 8 out of 10.
I'm going to keep trying until I do it. Then I'm going to frame it and hang it on my damn wall.
>>32685541
>>32685740
>>32685768
Sick /k/ommandos
>>32685807
sub 1" at 7 is just as hard as 4" at 25
>>32685807
>>32685903
Case and point.
>>32685740
amg sauce on that target
It has the resolution of a brick, but it'll do
>>32685903
>>32685917
One more, because fuck you 5 shots 2 holes.
>>32685964
>>32685964
heres the exact one
>>32685724
>@ 7 yards
*sigh
>>32685903
>sub 1" at 7 is just as hard as 4" at 25
no, no it isn't
>>32686251
>>32685903
1" at 7 yards is about 3.57" at 25
>not kidding it actually comes out to 357
>>32686251

Open mouth, insert foot.
>>32686251

>>32686311
Literally a mathematical and practical demonstration of them being the same proportion, how fucktarded are you?
>>32686380
>>32686399
mathematically it works out. As long as you aim in the same place and no other factors change it should all work out.
Does it? no, the targets smaller to see, the sights size relative to the target are going to be larger, thus a harder sight picture, and a decrease in overall accuracy.
Mathematically, in a perfect world, yes, it does work out. In an imperfect world, no
>>32686399
>the same proportion
then why do you bench shoot at 7 instead of 25?
>>32686437
Are you daft? I just posted my best groups at 7 yards and 25 yards and linked them in my post, the fucking post your responding to, with 2 different types of targets, shot in two different weather conditions, both represent my strongest and tightest groups and surprise surprise both are dead on the math that I initially suggested, yet here you are to back peddle and deflect, just own it bro.
>>32685541
I don't think I'm that good but I'll post some targets.
First one, ten yards slow fire all of these are with a .45.
>>32686486
> I just posted my best groups at 7 yards and 25 yards
not him, but you posted 1 that you claim is 25 yards, what do the others look like? you seem to love shooting at 7 yards, when competitive bullseye starts at 25. I'd like to know the source of your love for 7 yards, if 25 is the same thing.
>>32686593
Slow fire 10 yards again.
>>32686609
Mag dumps at 10 yards.
>>32685541
What position was that in?
>>32686462
Instant feed back and convenience. At 7 I can break a shot and think "that didn't go right" and then observe the target and analyze. At 25 I can't observe and analyze the individual shots.
Also when I one hole at 7 there's no question, at 25 someone can argue you had an errant round.
>>32686621
More mag dumps at 10 yards.
>>32686595
I actually pushed out to 25 because of the horse shit being flung around here, over and over being told sub 1" at 7 yards is meaningless. Then some one told me 8"-12" at 25 was harder, I instantly knew this to be false and shot at 25 this weekend to prove a point, you can accept the data or ignore it, I'm anonymous, this isn't for my benefit.
100 and 150 yards today. Shittay ammo but hey
>>32685541
Best my Ar has managed so far at 100.
>>32686754
Nice. How is it set up?
>>32686729
Fookin' prawns.
>>32686595
As for the others, you don't ask to see my other 7 yard groups though? Believe shitloads of those are junk.
But to sate you, I brought 50 rounds that sunday, 44 of them are on these two targets, 5 were mag dumped at some steel, 1 was errant and high right in on of the 5 shot groups.
Most groups were inside 8" the only other noteworthy one is pictured here, it's just over 4".
>>32686784
Truthfully nothing too special. Its a kit build with a 20" heavy barrel, nikon P-223 3x9 and a Geissele Super Semi-Automatic trigger. El cheapo Bipod.
>>32686807
No joke, do you have parkinsons?
>>32686876
Don't sell yourself short, the vast majority of people on earth will never be able to achieve that. I'm not big on rifles, but I can tell you right now most shit talking gun owners claim they can shoot like that, but few can.
>>32686876
Right on. I'm just asking because I was curious I'm not trying to critique your rifle. That's good shooting.
>>32686754
that's really damn good
most shooters wish they could get groups like that
>>32686807
The taped holes are how you really shoot and you put a few in it at point blank to show off.
>>32686960
I love that you think you understand pistol shooting :)
>>32687049
Child please.
>>32686701
>one handed
>off hand
nigga you aint 4"n shit at 25 yards
>>32686754
feet or yards?
>>32686638
>At 25 I can't observe and analyze the individual shots.
oh, so shooting a consistent group at 25 actually is harder?
imagine my surprise...
>>32686251
>>32686399
>>32686462
>>32686638
Hey...
>>32685724
>>32685830
These are me.
I started shooting at 7 yards because I WAS getting 2 to 3" groups at that distance. 2 to 3" in groups are tight enough to see what your error is. If you shoot at a distance that gives too loose a group, then you can't really tell your error. For example, maybe you're shooting a few degrees to the left. Supposedly it's also something of a statistically significant distance for self defense.
TODAY, I always shoot 10 shot groups STANDING at 7 yards. I do this for a couple of reasons.
First and foremost I want to put a "full" group through the center at that distance at least once. Secondly, shooting at a consistent distance and circumstance lets me track progress. Lastly, I generally post my best groups, not all of my groups. Some days I do shoot a little to one side or the other so 7 yards is still a useful distance.
Why do some of you have such a problem with it?
Secondly people talking about bench shooting and whether or not 7 yards is harder or easier than 25, proportionately that is. I'm going to say that unless you're some MOS fag (>>32685768) 25 yards is quite a bit harder. The focal plane is drastically different and it's harder to see the target while focusing on the front sight. Shit like this >>32685768 doesn't really equate to shooting with standard sights in any way.
>>32687113
I didn't shoot the groups one handed man that's just a picture to illustrate the scenario.
>>32687132
>STANDING
Who the fuck sits down to shoot pistols?
>>32687125
I fuck groups up at 7 yards too, doesn't everyone? Isn't that why it's called shooting groups? We are going for the best set?
>>32687164
I don't know. What was this fag even talking about? >>32686462
>>32687178
>I fuck groups up at 7 yards
no.
>>32687063
This guy fucks groups up.
>>32687200
>What was this fag even talking about?
Fuck, that's a good question. btw I'm
>>32687217
>>32687049
>>32686960
I'm just messing with you.
>>32687178
>We are going for the best set?
not with 8lbs trigger guns designed purely for LEO contracts, I don't. I don't self impose obstacles on myself when trying to bench shoot for accuracy. call me crazy.
>>32687162
utah?
>no one is using a lincoln coin to size comparison
You guys need to get into the spirit of things.
>>32687164
come at me bro
First time EVER shooting, Ruger American .22Lr at 50m (i think) outdoors with fuck all wind
>>32687217
Those are both my targets and posts and I'm confused.
>>32685541
are you shooting a .22?
>>32687416
not horrible for your 1st try, but luckily .22lr is cheap, you need practice.
>>32687416
not bad, you're somewhat consistent, which means that with a little practice and a slight scope adjustment you would be in the 9s and 10s while being completely new
you just have to work on tightening your groups, which just comes with time
>>32687310
Stop with the red herring derivative responses. Can you try to have a conversation as opposed to framing everything as a fucking battle?
I shot some nice groups with a stock striker gun, they are neither exceptional or unqualified, then some ass presumes that 7 yard groups have no merit because he doesn't understand proportional scale.
So we course correct that, and receive this shit storm in return, I dunno neo /k/, I just don't know about you.
>>32687505
>Can you try to have a conversation as opposed to framing everything as a fucking battle?
probably not. shooting for groups at 7 yards is fucking retarded. that's for practicing double taps and mozambique drills
if you can do it at 7 yards, you should be challenging yourself at 25 or 50.
>>32687505
>anetta keys
she definitely got a gallon of cum from me over the years
>>32687670
Honestly, the argument has been hashed out; not much point in repeating. What I will say is that in addition to being wrong, you sound angry because you can't shoot.
>>32687670
You are criminally retarded.
If I go out and shoot more sub 4" groups at 25 yards will you come to terms with math? Will you accept the reality of existence if some overly enthusiastic jerkoff goes out of his way to personally apply a lesson in physics?
Will you accept proportional equivalencies? Can we teach the hillbilly how to number?
>>32687694
You need to leave you're too old for this site.
>back when this was satirical and funny
I usually shoot from 7yards and fan it out to 10-15 yards with rapid firing where as soon as he target is back in my sights i fire again. Firing for accuracy with a long pause bores me to tears
>>32687728
>If I go out and shoot more sub 4" groups at 25 yards will you come to terms with math?
are you the guy that said you can easily adjust your aim at 7 but not so much at 25?
>>32687722
>you can't shoot.
waiting on new glasses, but give me some sort of identifier so I can keep you in the loop. do you have a throwaway email? I'll make a thread when I get my glasses. I won't even use my dad's bullseye pistol. I have a leaf made P-14 with a custom fit bushing.
>>32687834
>are you the guy that said you can easily adjust your aim at 7 but not so much at 25?
Pretty sure that's not me because I don't even understand the statement, someone could vector at 7 but not at 25 with a handgun? Who am I to judge I spend tons of my life doing this for nothing but personal intrigue.
>>32687894
>I don't even understand the statement
it was this post >>32686638
>At 7 I can break a shot and think "that didn't go right" and then observe the target and analyze. At 25 I can't observe and analyze the individual shots.
>>32687894
can you confirm if you are shooting these standing, or off bags
>>32687943
I want to state this a simply as possible, because this is like trying to herd cats with you people.
at 25 yards you cannot observe your impacts on target instantly, so if you felt you flinched, healed or otherwise fought the recoil you cannot tell without marching up to the target. So you loose any learned knowledge from all the bad shots because you have no map of them.
Pardon the fuck out of me for shooting the same groups at a range where I can personally assess and learn from every round sent down range, when I think I pulled the trigger wrong, I can confirm or dismiss it and learn.
Fuck me for taking the time to share this experience and insight with a cunt like you.
>>32687894
where did you go? is this off bags or standing?
>>32687952
You can come and shoot with me?
I have a youtube channel but it's speed shooting.
Dunno, if it really matters to you suggest a way for me to prove it's authentic and I'll produce the results. But in the end this feels pedantic, do you really think I'm going this far to lie?
>>32688001
unsupported always.
Like I said I can't prove or demonstrate anything more tonight...Here's my youtube?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYpNSx6y1eI
>>32687998
I agree with you but it's more than that. At 7 yards you can focus on the front sight and see the center of the target at the same time. It's effectively easier to aim whereas at 25 yards the details of the target, specifically in reference to your poa, is very hard to see at while maintaining focus on the front sight.
I, >>32685724, happened to also shoot a group at 25 yards today. Only, instead of standing I rested my hands on the bench making it even easier and only shot an 8" group at 25 yards. Since it was centered, I was happy with it, even scored 1 in the red. At least I think it was centered, the group was loose enough it wasn't really useful.
It's fun to shoot at 25 occasionally but it's not really useful for skill development.
>>32688038
>clips of a chicken-leg missing short and clipping the top of steel at shit yardage
i just subbed. post a vid of you shooting 3 sub 4" groups in a row, off hand.
Shooting MOS takes absolutely no skill.
If you have that set up, great. It makes for a great easy to use weapon.
Just don't come on here bragging your targets or skill. You look like a fool.
>>32688022
>You can come and shoot with me?
where you at? like I said, gonna be a couple weeks for my glasses, but I'll meet up within 100 miles of Phoenix. even 150 if you are serious
>>32688106
Will do, give me a weekend or two? I'll try to do it this one. (I shoot weekends and it's winter and weather dependent)
>>32688175
I'm in Farmington New Mexico, my range is in BLM land, you are always welcome sir.
>>32688178
hey, no hard feelings, and I really would like to do a meet up. I'd love to see you do this shit at 25. what state? looks like Utah. I'm in AZ. we could prob meet half-way
>>32688196
>Farmington New Mexico
that's a long way from me, but only about 4 hours from my mom's place. we might be able to make this work
>>32688204
You are totally welcome, come drink with me and watch me make completely unremarkable shots that create a fervor on /k/.
Wanna play horse with pistols and beer bottles at 50 yards too?

filename.
>>32687047
Most people can I think if they would slow down more and work on fundamentals. I go to the range too often and see people laying down was can only be called suppression fire with their Ar's. I get it, I do. I have the same kind of fun sometimes but it doesn't help you improve.
>>32686977
>>32687022
Thanks I appreciate it. I'm trying to get into reloading to squeeze more accuracy out of it.
Here's the rifle if anybody is interested.

One more thing, I need a drop of the creature to put up dem scoreboard groups, 16 oz or so,.
First time with my Mauser es340 at 55 yards. Not bad I guess.
>>32688710
Not to be a jerk, you should continue down this path.
But that is very poor unless it's some kind of supported run, even then, yuck.
>>32688803
*un
>>32688803
Well that's harsh, considering I've fiddled with the sights during the session to have to good elevation. didn't touch windage though, I need to shoot it a bit more to be sure it's not me.
>>32688841
Mind you this this is supposed to be for bragging, don't be upset when garbage gets disposed of.
5 shots @ 100y
>>32687474
>>32687486
I've gotten a bit better since then (but not overly much)
unfortunately, i don't actually own a rifle myself (yet) so i have to use the club rifle at the range i use, and it's rarely there so i don't get much practice, and people mess with the scope and fuck everything up (as you can probably tell by how bad the zeroing shots were). I'm hoping to get a license soon

I don't bother shooting for groups in the winter. 2 liters and steel at 25-75 yards is good enough in the cold.
