If over $500, yes.

If under, no.

Handled one today.
>>
>>32685117

You say that as if it's possible for a brand name like Colt to somehow die.
The name will always be worth money to investors.
Generally because the company is mainly used as a giant embezzlement scheme.
>>
>>32685140
How'd you like it? A couple youtubers said it has a false reset.
>>
>>32685140
>.38 special
> SEVEN FUCKING HUNDRED DOLLARYDOOS
Holy shit you can buy a medium end .44 magnum for that much, what are they thinking?
>>
>>32685140
>MSRP: $700

Not bad, but those pictures make it look like it has an ugly matte finish.
>>
>>32685117
>>32685140
Looks like a low tier Smith and Wesson. Colt is such garbage now sadly.
>>
>>32685153
It's going to fill the same market as it did when it first came out, a six shot carry in a five shot market. Thing is, there's far more competition now.

I wasn't blown away, but wasn't won over.
>>
>>32685149
/thread

Colt and Remington will just be stay alive no matter how incompetent the management is or how much further their QC will decline, they're household names that will always attract investors and buyers who don't know better, and the fudds, don't forget the fudds.
>>
>>32685117
I will never understand the firearms industry
>>
>>32685170
Oh shit I assumed it was a .357. I didn't even see it was a .38 only.

Dropped. I like .38s but you can't get away with charging someone thar kind of money for a .38 carry gun.
>>
>>32685170
>matte finish
>ugly
But a matte light grey finish like you see on some of those TOPS knives would look great on this gun...?
>>
>>32685169
They could sell Colt brand dog turds and people would still buy it for MUH PONY.

Thank God Colt is dying. They are everything wrong with the firearms industry.

>Sell the same shit over and over
>Utterly mediocre products. Not exceptionally good, not exceptionally bad.
>No innovation
>Charge far more then something is worth based on brand name alone
>Limited production runs out the ass
>When they finally do release a new product, it's just a reimagined old product in a format nobody asked for.
>>
>>32685153
S&W and Ruger revolvers also have a "false reset" if you short stroke the trigger, with different results (S&W skips over a chamber, Ruger just locks up until you let the trigger reset). Your YouTube experts felt the mechanism clicking and pulled again before it had actually reset, probably because they're used to semi-auto pistols and don't shoot revolvers much. It's a training issue, not a gun problem.
>>
>>32685140
What's with that finish, is it made out of aliminium?

>>32685208

>>
>>32685117
It pisses me off when the autists on this board want to see Colt fail. Sure they need fucking serious business/marker guidance, but I love Colt. They're a huge part of our history and have made some of the nicest/prettiest weapon platforms this country has ever known. Quit being sperglords hoping for Colt's failure
>>
>>32685513
That's the thing. I got an M16A1 clone a while ago for a thousand bucks. Colt is so out of touch with reality that they think people are willing to shell out almost double what the rifle is worth just to have the word Colt on the side of their lower.

I bet you if Colt would make an absolute killing if they just sold AR lowers at a somewhat reasonable price. I bet they would sell like hotcakes if they were just ten or twenty dollars more than typical lowers, and purists would love the rollmarks.
>>
>>32685623
KAC and HK could do the same damn thing, but they don't. I think all of these companies think more highly of themselves because they had the big contracts 20 or 30 years ago, and now they think civilians will shell out for the name, when that is clearly not the case.
>>
>>32685528
>not wanting a shit tier company to fail

Who gives a fuck they were good 40 years ago when they're shit now? I want shit companies with shit business practices to die, maybe the rest will learn from it. Not like colt is going to fail either way seeing as they think they can get away with their overpriced trash, someone's clearly buying it.
>>
>>32685180
>I wasn't blown away, but wasn't won over.

What did he mean by this? Is it boof pedo code?
>>
>>32685528
Never said I wanted colt to fail. I'm just tired of them resting on their laurels and trying to sell mediocre stuff at a premuim just because of a rollmark. You need to take a good look in the mirror before you call someone else a sperg.
>>
>>32685384
Matte grey polymer looks cool.

Matte grey metal looks like pot metal.
>>

Pathetic nerd

Go buy a smart gun nerd
>>
>>32685653
>>32685623
It just shows how out of touch with reality their management is. They just push nonsense products that sell mediocrely when they could be pushing stuff that makes sense like AR lowers. They act like the market is the same as what it was 2 decades ago. The age of buying a gun and doing nothing to it but maybe mounting a scope or a grip is gone, people want to build their own ARs from scratch to get their moneys worth. Its really pathetic that clearly whoever is in charge of their business decisions are clearly some old fudds who don't have any understanding of the current market.
>>
>>32685714
>Colt Smart gun
What fucking year are you referring 1998? Eat a dick kid, quit being edgy and rallying against Colt. I'm a Glock fanboy BTW, and I do wish Colt would reinvent themselves completely, but I don't want them to crash and burn like some of the spaghetti autists on /k/

I do "know the payback" you're referencing. It was directly related to the unions that were making it nearly impossible for the domestic manufacturers to make a profit. if they produces m16a2s with a heatshield and a dummy-mock M203 that was a discreet 37mm flare launcher they'd get a buy from me

>Re-launch the snake revolvers. Market them as competition and collectors items and price them accordingly.
>They already do this

>a .38 special CC piece is a relaunch of a series of revolvers in a series of calibers with varying barrel lengths

Yeah.... thats hardly a "relaunch" of the snake series
>>
>>32695892
Its a start, did you expect them to start making everything at once?
>>
>>32695916
...yes. A bunch of companies at shot are showing off dozens of new products.
>>
>>32685528
Fuck them. It's just a name and has no management continuity to the dead men who designed the classics. If they fail maybe Taurus will buy them out.
>>
>>32690255

Because for that much money you can buy one of several other revolvers in .357, and the only thing this has over them is being a Colt. Now if colt had been making badass revolvers up until now and developed a reputation of being worth it, that might mean something, but they haven't made revolvers in awhile and this thing is new and unproven, and colts general reputation has slipped in the meantime
>>

>>32686178
Holy shit really? I know we had 240s and 249s but the m4s themselves are fn too?
>>
>>32685140

Why the fuck wouldn't they at least make it so it can handle .357?

I mean I like .38 special; but if you're not making a conceal carry snubnose what's the point in not adding the bulk so it can handle magnum?

Come on Colt, get your shit together.

I mean Colt could go bankrupt; but if they another company would almost certainly buy the rights to the brand name and continue making their guns.

The brand name itself has a lot of value even if Colt is doing jack shit with it.
>>
>>32692568

of course they don't they've never bought a gun
>>
>>32690149
What profile do they call the old XM16 style 20" barrel?

Pencil?
>>
>it's a .38 SPL
>>
>>32697748
nevermind, found one.

http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/gm-m15-m16-a1-5-56mm-20-1-12-twist-20-barrel/

looks like it has M16 feed ramps though, that's a bit of an issue.
>>
>>32685149
Kodak is kill, anon. Any brand can die. Mismanagement will eventually kill Colt for the last time.
>>
>>32695931
Successful companies with many factories, established models, and financial backers that will only be releasing three of the dozen prototypes in their booths over the next two years. Colt can only unfuck the company one production line at a time.

How so
>>32696802
:^)
>>
>>32700855

Lighter

Cheaper

Probably as good or better trigger

More concealable
>>
>>32700864
I could use that same arguement vs a g19 or a 1911, doesn't make it true.
>>
>>32700864

Doesn't the LCRX only hold 5 shots?
>>
>>32700869
For carry it would be true. You can still choose the 1911 but doesn't mean those aren't true. Trigger would be worse on a Glock though

>>32700908
Indeed. One minor point to colts favor I guess but to me the lcr form factor makes up for it.
>>
>>32700813
Seconding this request
>>
>>32700911
Some people aren't pussy niggas and can carry a bigger gun comfortably tho
>>
>>32700942
you want to dress 2 sizes too big to conceal your 10mm Glock?

The best gun is the gun you can have all the time regardless of wardrobe.
>>
>>32700949
You can carry a 1911 in skinny jeans tho
>>
>>32700952
No. You can't. Not even with AIWB.
>>
>>32700961
Yes you can lol, dont make me get my fat ass in front of a mirror
>>
>>32700963
Youre fat no wonder you can. I can put on skinny jeans and I have a two 1911s (ones a .22 )

It will not conceal

>>32700963
You aren't as wrong as I originally thought. Maybe if it wasn't for the long ass grip this would be possible with slightly looser jeans MAYBE but actually I'm thinking a holster would put It over the edge

With AIWB the grip still pokes too far out to the right for me to conceal and again. Worse if I had a holster.

Don't have a holster for this tho.
