I didn't even know Shotshow was going on. I'd pay more attention if I had higher expectations from the gun industry. It seems like everything I've ever seen at Shotshow is either unobtanium vaporware or yet another "revolutionary" AR and/or striker fired polymer framed pistol.

Already a pain and takes too long compared to normal shotgun to load my KSG....25 shot capacity.
That must take forever.

Would be fun for turning heads at the range though....

Lol, Ian unloading full autism on that lady. I would expect nothing less.

He is basically calling her out for her sales tactics though. Saying that you don't need to aim a gun like that is bullshit. Its long enough and doesn't have enough of a spread that you can make that claim.

I think some people do let these sales folks run over them in their interviews and basically give them an ad instead of engaging them about their product. Stopping buy and listening to their spiel then leaving isn't really worth much when I can get the same from their website.

I'm really excited about the Maxim 9 after watching Ian and Karl fondle and talk over it, and now I have quite a bit of enthusiasm for the Hudson. Here's to hoping they're competent enough to actually bring them to market and not just keltec the fuck out of two seemingly neat designs.

I saw that DD is going to start selling their ar10 with an 18" barrel, which is kind of neat but ultimately pointless because they chose to price the DD5 into SCAR and LMT MWS territory.

>I'm really excited about the Maxim 9 after watching Ian and Karl fondle and talk over it

Just watched the video and yeah, I have that same feeling now. I was afraid the gun itself wasn't going to be that great, and I wasn't aware of its design mechanics. After hearing it was a fixed barrel delayed blowback that took Glock mags, I was a lot more enthusiastic. Watching it be shot was pretty cool too, because it really does suppress the sound so much I'm pretty sure I was hearing the action of the pistol.

Its even better it has the removable baffles so you can use long or short, and that long takes +p+ and is still hearing safe. That's exciting.

Remington and CZ are releasing polymer striker fired guns
Colt is shit
Glock will come out with a ton more MOS models, as well as the no finger groove gen 4.1 as ordered by FBI
DSA has some new FAL furniture and FAL's available
IWI is releasing it's DAN .338LM, as used by the IDF, someone else is releasing a custom trigger for the Galil ACE. 5.56 Galil ACE is shipping. Lets hope someone comes out with an easy way to unfuck them back to an ARM clone

Every bolt gun maker is coming out with a sub $1500 dollar chassis gun to compete with the Ruger Precision Rifle, unfortunately I don't see any in .300WM or similar, yet

Mossberg is coming out with like 2 shotguns that skirt the NFA, technically non-firearms

>>32688686
The .mil gave them a survival contract after giving FN the entire M4/M16 production, so now colt is making a handful of M4A1's again.

They have absolutely nothing else in the pipe. They will lose the M9 and M249 replacement bid. I mean FFS they lost the M203 replacement bid and it went to HK when LMT had a rail mount M203 that accepted long 40mm.

I'm fucking tired of HK getting attaboy contracts. M320 is a joke, if MG4 replaces the SAW I'm going to have a conniption

Colt was swimming in .gov contracts back then, didn't give a fuck about gun rights then, doesn't give a fuck much now, that's why they are so fucking out of touch.

The contract they got was a survival contract, FN has assumed 85%+ of M4/M16 manufacture.
As far as I know FN has the full contract for the M4A1's which will equip US army infantry forces from now on

Don't get me wrong, I third you guys, I'd like an older 70 myself.
I've heard quality has gone down on the newer ones, but it doesn't take away the fact that Colt has nil contracts and tons of competition and cannot innovate.
The all american and CM901 (which requires a kit to change between standard uppers which you can't find - I've heard owners have had colt tell them lol not .mil/LEO sorry) were the last time colt tried to innovate
>>
>>32688797
I've never trusted a plastic rail for that application. That said the KSG is a decent shotgun, just don't use a foregrip

You actually are right about that one guy with the promag grip, but the polymer rails are still fucking retarded as shit and do break.
>>
>>32688814
I shot a KSG with no front grip

It felt strange for the first couple shots and the one I shot required a bit of force to cycle so I was always aware to keep my finger out of the trigger guard when pumping.

otherwise it was a really fun gun to shoot, its so short and compact and the shells go on for what feels like forever compared to a normal pump

>>

>>
>>32688834
What's more you see idiots with plastic rail w/VFG's on regular shotguns - like the MOE.
If your going to be putting that kind of force to rack something, make sure it's a metal rail/keymod.
Hell they make full metal VFG's for that kind of application as well
>>
>>32688838
Nice. Can you get the 26 or the 43 in MOS flavor now?
>>
>>32688864
Not sure which models yet, I'm going to assume most of the full sized/G19 sized guns will get an MOS as a priority. I'm thinking bestsellers like the G20, G21, G22, G23. I imagine they'll be standard on the longslides at a certain point forward. Micro RDS's will get smaller anyway so even if no G26 MOS yet, it will happen eventually

"The Fix" by Q. Is this rifle /k/ approved or is this a meme gun
>>
>>32690809
From what I gather is this is supposed to be able to go through some barriers , impact the targets and then use the grooves in the bullet to produce a big wound but not over-penetrate.

Not sure this works. The person they're interviewing says it will go into the body and then be spinning and send the energy out and around.
Creating regular entry wound, significant internal damage, and no exit wound.
The concept makes me think of a pump impeller but those only work due a very high RPM. Which Ian point out will not be achieved because a 9mm does not have that much rifling. So even if the bullet still has enough energy to become that impeller, it does not have enough centrifugal force to achieve that effect.
The video also points out that it's the same material as a frangible.

Conclusion: It's going to either hit a solid barrier and deform/disintegrate without harming the target on the other side of the barrier, or it's going to hit the target and do what a regular rounded bullet would do.

I like the 0 MOA too. Ruger has 20 MOA but in practice these rifles will be used at 1000 m maximum, so you most likely won't need an angled rail. I guess it also makes it easier to put an NVD in front of the scope and get it aligned with the scope. RPR feels like it's mainly targeted at civilians and this Tikka seems to be targeted at military and LE users too. The guy being interviewed mentioned that the stock passed the NATO drop test, so I guess they've made it pass a lot of other things as well.

>>
>>32696622
I here you bro, The fact that Colt has used the
>Because you suck and we hate you
business model is the tip of the iceberg.

That govt contract dick sucking CEO from the late 80's and 90's threw us all under the bus for
>muh contracts

I mean this is the guy who while ran the company used lobbyist to put gun control measures in place, not because of *muh libural safety* or to make the Fudds happy... (who BTW still have an image that it was the same company from the 19th century). but because his companies shit products were sub par and far inferior to Glock and other *wonder nines!!*, so since they couldn't compete in the marketplace they push politicians to make laws that fuck over the advantages of the glock or other competitor handguns to level the playing fields

Then they worked with Frankenstein and the other gun control wiz kids for the AWB, Again not for *crime stopping* but again because the imports were mopping the floor with colt' evermore stale offerings for prices that were 10th of their OP pony guns. This also pretty much halted any other makers of ARs from entering in the market place to undercut colts prices with other newer offerings.

This whole time they earn brownie points with the pussies in congress who for granting their dream of fucking us over in tern makes colt a shoe in for more US govt, and overseas contracts.

Fuck they even tried the Smart gun ID chip bullshit, which also blew up in their faces

This shit worked, we got fucked and they had a stream of cash, until 04, when the ban died and the flood gate opened up and AR's literally rained from the sky and colt was still left with their stale has been crusty dick in hand with the same HK mindset... until the govt contract stopped, and they had a very hard time on civilian sales as they had huge catch up to do with the AR market.

Plus, the fact that he didn't just ask fluff-piece questions actually gave the rep a good chance to legitimately discuss some of the features of the gun that she wouldn't have otherwise. Either way im excited about it since I can finally live my SBS fantasies without the ATF sticking their grubby little hands in my business.

In clear ballistics gel, I was actually getting a bit more penetration than standard 124gr FMJ (14-16in FMJ vs 18-20in Polycase), and it was producing about a 3in permanent cavity the whole way. Both layered denim and drywall seemed to have a negligible effect.

A lot of what their rep was saying sounded like marketing bullshit, but the ammo itself seems to work well enough. Only thing I'd be concerned about is overpenetration, but I'm not much bothered by that, personally.

As an owner of a Python, Diamondback, Police Positive, Blackhawk, and Super Redhawk: Ruger is good quality with mediocre to fair triggers. Seriously, even the trigger on my Police Positve blows the Super Redhawk out of the water. The overall build quality on old Colts can't be over stated and the finish is superb.

As far as modern wheel guns go, yes Ruger is the best going, but that's only because Colt is a bunch of retarded monkeys and S&W cut every corner they can while adding "safety" features no one wants.

Colt is just trying to make it sound like they are barely breaking even and doing everyone a favor making a limited run of a rifle everyone wants
>>

I hope it's bolt on instead of having to fuck with the barrel.
>>

>M16A1 parts kits where $~200-600 five years ago
>Haven't found any in five years because colt got them all for this
>Cost of forged lower to typical manf = 30-70$
>May cost colt 230-670$ a rifle to build.
>Assuming they're actually built on horded parts kits.

I could see the $2500 MSRP if all the parts where newly manufactured easily... However rumor is they're built off NOS M16/SP1 kits.
>>
>>32699388
I know CT can be hell for gun makers. But even with those elevated costs, there is no way it comes out to even half of that MSRP.
And it definitely does all come down to the management and executives doing the pricing. I'm not blaming the designers/ tool operators.
>>
>>32699006
I wonder what chris bartocci has to say about this. He did work at colt and

The fact that he shat all over the expanse and that this is apparently partly out sourced probably means he'll shit on it too.
>>
Am i the only one excited about stag arms new stock and foregrip?
>>
>>32699437
Okay. When you mention that it does provide some reason.
I honestly did not think of the furniture aspect of it all if they had to remake stocks, handguards, etc.
So with that highest estimated production price they're making roughly $1,800 per gun before you factor in all the other costs like storage, shipping, and all that other stuff.

If the rumors are wrong and it's all newly machined parts, $2500 is pretty typical.

What's the cost of most of the "custom" AR's on the market right now that have in house custom machined parts? 1600-4000$.

Plus the cost of new molds for the furniture, new tooling for the new barrel specs, fixed carry handle upper forging and man hours to build...

Tack on a premium for a limited production run and you're pretty typically priced.

We won't know if we should laugh at them as the final nail is hammered into the coffin until we know more.

B&T just opened up importers in Tampa, FL

They are by far the height of quality and precision, I've owned an MP9 for a while now and this is my new desire.

A Sphinx with a folding stock, extended capacity magazine, threaded barrel and integrated electronic sight.

What puzzles me is that lionheart isn't at the show again this year. You'd think that they'd actually want to get people to sell their shit by showing up to a trade show and showing off their fancy new suppressor ready guns that are apparently 100% made in the USA now.

A lot of people are getting pissed at them for teasing new calibers and maybe a way to get K2s into the country, but never delivering on them as well.

I sold my LH9 when I moved, but hung on to the magazines I got for cheap. I might just sell them if lionheart is just going to continue being like this.
>>
>>32699651
I handled one, it's AMAZING.

MP9's are restricted to 02/07/SOT holders. You'd be looking for a semiautomatic version. A form 4 TP9 SBR.

neat, honestly that doesnt suprise me too much they are very solid rifles, a bit heavy in the early generations but now they're a pretty decent AR alternative.

I find there know it all attitude annoying. They do ask questions no one else will though. In this case, it is perplexing why they think they know more than Colt. Limited edition runs are common across many different product lines. The point isn't to sell 2,500 more rifles. It is to cater to enthusiasts and get media attention. It is also probably a fun project to work on.
>>
>>32699766
Yeah they're great and all I just don't know how they make money. Supposedly they're some big mil contract guys but I have no idea what they make or made other than M110s.

I've always wanted something from them just because cool but never really been interesting in anything specific they make.

Thailand has been replacing their M16s, including A1s, with jew guns over these past few years.

I've never seen a Thai gun parts kit though. More likely that the army transfers their unwanted guns to border patrol and ROTC.
>>

>mag falls out while he's trying to chamber another round

I'd ask why but that is actually not as ass raping as I'd thought, still a bit silly but they do everything in house and forge , right?
>>
>>32684672

Handled and fired a CZ P-10 tonight at the MSR range night. Absolutely fantastic gun, very very accurate, and the trigger is probably one of the best I've ever felt.

If they keep up with American demand, and don't make it exceedingly hard to get like everything else they make, it could put a decent dent in the poly striker fired handgun market.

My chief complaint is the fuckhuge slide release, it's too easy, at least for me, to ride the release and prevent last round hold open.
>>
>>32699861
I'm guessing that they don't literally forge their own blanks because that would be insane.

149 for a full ambi KAC lower is not bad at all. It's not just a plain jane lower.

Don't forget Democrats removed filibuster ability because in thier infinite wisdom they thought they would be the ruling party forever.

>We'll see what the wording is later but word is they are going to still be regulated but like pistols

The bill in Congress says a basic 4473 needs to be filled out, didn't hear anything about being 21 but I could be wrong.
Plus tax credits for suppressors bought after October 2015 when it was introduced.
>>
>>32700091
Neat, would be the wild damn west for the next couple months after it passes because most companies aren't really set up to take massive influx of orders I imagine and fly by night companies using Ikea parts to make baffle strike specials will be also there in the chaos.

Heck, we might even see MAC 10 clones built the way they were designed (without full auto and closed bolt of course) and whole lines of integrally supressed hunting rifles.

It's also around 1500 dollarydoos, which I'm not going to spend on a shit rifle, so if I want it to not suck dicks like it's it's job I'm gonna have to rethread the fucking barrel or buy a new one altogether, and replace all of the furniture.

At least it still accepts AK mags.
