It goes boom when you pull your boogerhook around the bangswitch.

Would be pretty cool were it not for sbr and full auto restrictions.

They are cute little space guns.

Would be great if the gun, mags and ammo wouldnt cost that much
I rather invest this mones in a aks74u and training
>>
>>32683927
It's a gun movies use when they want to look futuristic even though its actually a relatively old design.

Police departments tried to use it for a while but ditched it after realizing that it's only real advantage was its AP properties, and that 99.9% of criminals don't wear armor.
>>
>>32684015
yea, im a kanuck cunt so i dont know what its like..... :(
>>
>>32683927
They're a really cool looking .22 Magnum, good for shooting Goa'ould, but not a whole bunch else.
>>
>>32684021
G-good to know, anon...
>>
>>32684021
How hard? 5.56 hard or 7.62?
>>
>>32683927
Great gun for what it was designed for, by a great company. Innovative af, I probably have no personal use for it though. Maybe if they made it in 9mm for HD or even 22 for plinking I'd consider one.

It is not practical in the least. If you want to look needlessly future soldier, then get an airsoft one and paint it white.

I shot Chimp's at the last NC meetup and it was a blast. His was SBR'd and it was the first bullpup ive ever shot, absolutely no recoil whatsoever and ergonomic AF. I wouldnt really use it for more than shooting steel though, didnt have much muzzle blast even in the SBR configuration which was nice.
>>
>>32683927
Pretty cheaply made desu, rough casting marks on the receivers but machined cleanly where it matters. If i had to guess, id say it costs less than 300 bucks for FN to produce.
>>

RCP90 when?
>>
>>32684544
>Needs to be in a normal caliber
But it is normal caliber. For machinegun. Only problem is that you can't own one.

you're fucking dumb. 5.7 ammo is cheap. PSA puts it on sale regularly.

my county SWAT uses them. GTFO.
>>
>>32684603
5.7 is not a normal caliber as far as machine guns go considering th P90 is the only automatic weapon that uses it.
>>
>>32684884
I'm here to tell you that your county swat is hardly a good metric for firearms acquisitions. The only stateside agency that has had any real long term usage of the p90 in numbers that actually matter is the USSS.
>>
neato gun with a meme round whose only advantage is armor penetration at the cost of being bad at terminal ballistics, relatively expensive, relatively uncommon, and a bottle neck pistol round
>>
>>32684884
>1991
>Not old

I mean it's not ancient or outdated or anything, but it's not new. It's been in service longer than the M4. It's older then I am.

Also, it's primary advantage over other SMGs is it's AP capabilities, which are practically pointless for LE application. That's why only a few police departments actually bother keeping them onhand.
>>
>>32683927
It has wound vectors.
>>
>>32683927

According to some it's the Cat's Pajamas.
>>
None of the FN optic solutions have aged very well given how far red dots have come recently. The top rail that comes on PS90s now is a joke. Step one is to actually get a decent low-profile mount.

>>
>>32684180
>>32684259
>>32684544
Not ever happening. It needs a non-tapered cartridge to make the horizontal feeding work. It would have to be something like 9mm Automatic, which is just as special snowflake. Also, any normal rifle cartridge won't work because it's simple blowback.
>>
>>32683927
One of the few really innovative firearms to come out since the assault rifle. FN decided that they were going to be bold and actually pulled it off. Krauts got butt-hurt and cried all the way home. The PDW concept never really took off as intended, but the P90 was successful despite this as high-capacity AP replacement for traditional sub-machine guns.

>>32683927
I love my PS90, but if it was a real P90 it would be much better. Full auto with 50rds would be so awesome, no recoil, ergonomic, light, and with a replacement hammer and trigger spring it makes the trigger slightly less shitty.
>>
>>32683927
If you SBR it (better still throw a suppressor on there too) I think you have a fantastic home defense weapon. With the 16 inch barrel it's a little wonky looking, though I'm not saying I don't want one anyway. It's just a shame to take away one of the biggest advantages of it's design.

>>
>>32683927
If I could get one that was full auto it would be cool (obviously if I could afford one like that I could afford the ammo and mags for it too)

Otherwise I think its a waste of time to spend all that money buying a snowflake gun that doesnt really do anything I couldnt get done with an all around less expensive 9mm carbine.
>>

Absurdly overpriced for what it is, if you've actually seen one in person and stripped it down.

Polymer frame, stone-age retard-proof straight blowback action. It's a stupid simple gun.

There is absolutely no reason this gun should cost over $800 or so.

Also gotta register as SBR if you want to un-cuck it, and no glorious full auto which is what the gun and the cartridge were designed for.

They have 2 of them at a range I frequent and they are usually broke. Maybe cause they get run hard as rentals or maybe they are just crap. I never shot it and wouldn't buy one unless it's a full auto, then it would be fun. I have an Aklys Bullpup 10/22 conversion that looks almost like it and shoot that a lot. I built it for 419 and the ammo is alot cheaper too.

I handled a P90 and it felt really poorly made for the price.

50 shots, more than enough to kill anything that moves.
>>
>>32685641
>Krauts got butt-hurt and cried all the way home.
Did they though? Sure, it was stupid for them to give the MP5K a new stock+muzzle device and claim it was now a PDW, that thing deserved to fail. However, they came back with a vengeance with the MP7, a weapons that's actually used by SF worldwide, as evidenced by tons of publicity shots and that French guy that died in Somalia. They may have been late to the party but it sounds to me like they won the PDW war in the end.
>>
>>32691054
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_P90#Users
And the P90 is used also by armed forces around the world, I don't think H&K got the upper hand in the end, maybe equal. I would bet H&K got those contracts because of other underhanded dealings, but this is just my speculation based on my dislike of H&K.
>>
>>32691054
they won it twice, first time with the G11 PDW
then they dialed the gnomish magic down, like, a lot, and made the MP7

Great concept, but it's deceptively heavy for its size. FN needs to redesign it and ditch the direct/assisted blowback so it can shave a pound or two.

This t b h

It's a cool design but the MP7 outpaces it. There's a lot of changes to the design that could be done to make it lighter weight, lessen recoil, and make it more user friendly. I doubt there will ever be a gen 2 P90 but it'd be cool to see what it would look like. It's an elegant design but the MP7 has more modern features that makes it more useable.
>>
>>32691926

>slows ROF on PDW

Why
>>
>>32692004
FUCK

>>32692037
The purpose of roller delay is to lighten the bolt while still being able to keep the casing chambered long enough for pressure to drop to safe levels. The P90 already has a rate reducer in it.
>>
>>32691963
How am I wrong? The stability factor with 7N6 and that twist rate is in the marginal range.
>>
>>32692306
Per the formula for bullet stability it should be unstable at pretty much all bullet weights. In practice that's not the case.
>>
>>32692306
That has been proven wrong for years now.
>>
>>32692328

There's really been no testing done on this, apparently. I stand by my statement that you may have poor performance from a standard 5.45 load with a chopped SLR104UR.

I wanted to get a FN 57 but got a beretta 92 instead becauser the p90/fn 5.7 ammo cost too much for such a small cartridge, I am worried when I get caught in a situation, the 5.7 would not have stopping power and would probably just go through and make collateral damage
