Anybody got the dimensions/parent case/load data for it?
>inb4 corporate shill
I assumed it was based on the .30 Remington because it said you needed 6.8SPC mags.

From the image though it looks like the rim is slightly rebated. This would make sensw if they were trying to keep parts commonality with 5.56 bolts. Also the wider case rims make ar style bolts more prone to shearing at the lugs (see: 7.62x39 ar)
Unfortunately I don't see anything on SAAMI despite the cartridge apparently being standardized, or anywhere else for that matter.
Also sorry for somewhat shitty pic
Will this fail harder than the .223 WSSM?
.204 Ruger for speed.
6.5 Grendel for range.
.223 Wylde for practical use.

It is

Apparently this is from TFB:
22 Nosler® ammunition will initially be loaded in the company’s popular Match Grade™and Trophy Grade™Ammunition lines in the following offerings:
Nosler® Trophy Grade™ Ammunition— 55gr. Ballistic Tip
3,500 fps (24” SAAMI test bbl) | 3,350 fps (18” gas-op semi auto)
Nosler® Match Grade™ Ammunition— 77gr. Custom Competition
3,100 fps (24” SAAMI test bbl) | 3,350 fps (18” gas-op semi auto)
This is a special purpose round, any traditional AR is probably not a good idea due to the friction produced from the velocity this thing puts out. It becomes a moot point to use this sparingly with a rifle length gas system or in a bolt gun.

>new 223 cartridge with same shit ogive length
"Fascinating".
>>32684617
>.223 Wylde
Forgive my ignorance, but is this the same cartridge as the .223 Rem?
If not, whats the difference?
>>32684748
Literally why
Seems to offer just about nothing over 556 other than costing more
>>32685382
.223 Wylde isn't an actual cartridge, but a chamber.
Try and find a box of it.
>>32685505
That's what I was thinking, I had literally never seen a box, but hear about it all the time when people talk about ARs.
I googled it and got my answer, it's a chamber sizing that allows a rifle to safely fire both .223 and 5.56.

In my defense this wikipedia page has existed for less time than this thread according to the edit history

good round for intended purpose, nothing else. it will never be suitable for a SPR role no matter how much you try to justify it. only a slavaboo would pick such a round for serious marksmanship, or a russian with a riced 74' etc.

pause at 1:58 for supposed 600 yard shot group and you'll see why it's an improvement over 55 grain 5.56. This is a good round, but also a novelty because it's proprietary. I wouldn't be opposed if the US military made a knock-off clone and adopted it personally.
22-250 already exists. Why did they do this its only available in expensive Nosler rifles.
>>32686434
>22-250
Bigger rim diameter = new bolt.
>>32686392
>it will never be suitable for a SPR role no matter how much you try to justify it.
Fun fact: 77 grain 0.223 with form factor of 0.929 (same as 7N6) would have G7 BC of 0.236. 7.62mm M118 has G7 BC of 0.239.
So no, yeah 0.223 at 2950 fps could be helluva of SPR round. Too bad all 0.223 bullets are shot and fat not long and low drag.
>>32684947
basically this. If all it does is add powder without better bullets I'm not very interested. If it gave more powder AND longer bullets it'd be more exciting.
>>32685383
>seems to offer just about nothing over 5.56
Wasn't aware that 250fps MV increase from AR-length barrels with 55gr ammo was "nothing", especially considering how pissy people get around here over the THREE fps difference between 10.3" and 10.5" barrels.
>>32686434
It will fit micro-action boltguns and AR15's, whereas .22-250 requires short-action boltguns or AR10's.
>>32689488
Take a look at .22 PPC. You could mag-load 90gr JLK's (which are almost 2" long) if you wanted to. And it fits in an AR.
>>32689540
>.22 PPC
neat
>>32684564
I shot one of those.
What happened?
Finally found
>>32685581
Safely isn't the issue, it's accurately that's the real selling point
