Bolt head shifts off toward the charging handle side of the trunnion. Under full power of the recoil spring it nicks the trunnion enough to engage the locking piece/rollers and stop it from going into battery, but it goes in fine if I ease the bolt forward. Most of the parts are cetme but the locking piece is HK, so I'm lead to believe that might be causing the tilt. What does /k/ think?
>inb4 century a shit
Fuck off with that shit it doesn't help anyone.
>>
>>32681851
I think you're a fucking idiot for buying garbage to save $100
>>
>>32681851
>Fuck off with that shit it doesn't help anyone.
It could have helped you, retard.
>>
>>32681851
firstly I would see if it's assembled correctly, I don't own any G3 type rifles to compare though :(
>>
>I didn't want to listen to /k/ and now that they were right, I don't want to listen to them

You're the kind of fucking retard who has no business living let alone owning firearms
>>
>>32681851
Load a round in manually then suck start it. PTR GIs are below 1,000 most of the time.
>>
>>32681997
they're below $900 most of the time

All guns can run into problems dipshits. blaming a brand for an issue that can happen to anything is exactly the bullshit excuse you'd come up with.
OP when did this start happening? what's the bolt gap? did you put it back together wrong?
>>
>>32682041
And Century Arms is more prone to problems than any other manufacturer. Sorry OP, but you gotta stop the damage control.
>>
>>32682041
Exactly what we asked him last thread and it went nowhere. He needs to take it to a smith or send it in.
>>
>>32682041
>All guns can run into problems dipshits

And you knew going in these would have an abnormally high failure rate
>>
>>32682041
Century is known to be the #1 worst producer of Cetmes and G3s literally EVER
>>
"My gun is fucked and made by a company with a reputation for the complete inability to build roller-delayed stuff, but how dare you blame the company."
>>
>>32681997
Yeah GI is $900. But $200 more gets you the bull barrel, welded top rail, and keymod handrail.
>>
>>32682163
>keymod handrail.

if you want an AR, get an AR
>>
>>32682163
That isn't keymod
And it's either handguard or rail
Not handrail
>>
>>32682163
All of that is garbage.
>>
>>32681851
had one of those POS rifles, and it sounds like you have exactly the same problem I did, century welded the trunnion in crooked on the one i had, the only safe way to fix it is to get a new reciever cut the parts out of your century and reweld them all correctly into the new reciever, I did not feel like doing that so I sold mine to a sucker for what I paid for it.
>>
>>32682041
Century isn't a brand. Its a warning label.

Its a concentration camp for raifus
>>
>>32682239
>I did not feel like doing that so I sold mine to a sucker for what I paid for it.
Well we found your buyer.
>>
>>32682041
>All guns can run into problems
very true except that this exact problem is extremely common for this exact type of rifle from this exact manufacturer. when you have a common problem common to a manufacturer then it is perfectly fair to blame the brand.

>C308
You bought a bullshit gun, the C308 is known for a variety of structural and functiona problems, along with shooting +5MOA

You should have bought a PTR91.

>Fuck off with that shit it doesn't help anyone
It would, you could have done a little bit of research to see that the C308 is a shitbox and that you shouldn't have bought it.

Rule of thumb for Century: don't buy anything of theirs that they have built themselves from the ground up. For an example, the AKs they import are fine, the AKs they try to build themselves, they fuck up.
>>
>>32682041
>All guns can run into problems dipshits
Yes, especially Century builds.
>>
>>32682290
barrel turned into bullit
>>
>>32681851
>What does /k/ think?

That you are a fucking retard for buying a c308 instead of a ptr despite having access to the internet which should have told you that was a stupid fucking idea.

See if century will fix it or take it to a smith this is beyond your abilities.
>>
>>32681851
Check the trunnion to see if it's on straight.
>>
>>32681997
>PTR GIs are below 1,000 most of the time
And the god-damned sons of bitches just HAD to start using fucking CETME cocking tubes to save money! Fuck! There goes buying one for a G3 clone
>>
>>32682599
Can't you get the proper parts from HKparts?
>>
>>32682603
Yeah, I believe new production cocking tubes run from 75ish to around 125, but fuck me if I'm gonna pay for the rifle, pay for the tube, then send it off and pay someone to install it and refinish the gun.
I hate it, it's such a small detail and if someone else hadn't pointed it out I never would've realized, but now I can't unsee it
>>
>>32682599
proofs?

Not denying, I just want the sauce

Check out pic for a current production GI.
The HK spec cocking tubes are tapered near the middle, you can google image search and see for yourself
>>
>>32682709
I looked up PTRs and it seems they've always used that style of cocking tube
>>
>>32682709
I'm not seeing a taper on the HK91s on google
>>
>>32682725
it isn't a taper, it is a step in the dimension of the tube after the front sight which is closer to the front sight on that PTR than on the H&K
>>
>>32682752
so the complaint is the location of a diameter change?

What kind of autism is this?

It's not a "diameter" change, the cocking tubes are fucking surplus CETME parts. I don't want a G3/CETME hybrid, if I did i'd fucking be OP

>ITS NOT HIS FAULT! All brands can have QC problems!!
Holy fuck, what is with this white knighting over shitty companies?
>>
>>32683282
It's the same kind of guy who'll buy a Rustington 870 and say "NUH-UH!" when you point out that the finish corroded off in humid air, and that the ejector fell out when he pumped it.
>>
>>32682383
But /k/! $200!!!!
Nevermind that $200 would be for a competent company over a well know mess of a company! Nevermind that $200 is less a game of "not getting a lemon" and more assurance of getting a solidly built product! Nevermind that $200 is for a company with an actual reputation they most likely care about so they will put more emphasis on customer service and trying to make something right! Nevermind that $200 is most likely down the drain by the time OP gets this fixed by a good smith and out time dedicated to this problem as well!

It's $200, bro!!!
>>
>>32683309
The problem with remington is that they used to make real good products and their higher end/priced lines are still alright. Century, well, they seem to take partial credit for stuff they import, which probably confuses people on why half their line is utter garbage.
>>
>>32683368
by the time he gets it "fixed" he will have paid twice the cost of just buying the PTR in the first place.
>>
>>32683673
and then the receiver will start cracking after all that
