Vepr-12

Thanks, they became unobtanium a week or two after I got it. Those russian sanctions made people panic buy and double or triple the price on them overnight.
It worked out perfectly that it was in 556 too, since I'd been looking for an excuse to get into the caliber. Cheap-ish tracers are a definite plus for it too.
>old: 1945 M44 Mosin Nagant
>new: 1998 Vepr 308
>>32682094
Right on, I've got a SGL21 I'm glad I got a hold of that before the sanctions as well.
>>32682529
I missed that boat myself. Woulda-coulda-shoulda.
But I've made up for it with other things, like 10c/r 545 crates etc.
>>32682585
I even got a Russian FSGB and booster, along with a 500 meter sight leaf as well as Ak100 rear trunnions and a ted Marshall pistol grip plate. It's gonna be beautiful when I'm finished.

Do Mausers have single or double stacked magazines?
>>32683477
Mauser Models 1889, 1890, 1891 and 1892 have single-stack magazines. Mauser Model 1893 and later all double-stack.
>>32683497
I should mention that those are all smokeless Mausers. The blackpowder repeater Mausers all had tubular magazines.
Oldest: 1917 Remington M91
Newest: SBR CZ scorpion

How does a stripper clip work in a double stacked magazine?
>>32683554
There's a rib on the magazine follower that forces the first round into the magazine to one side or the other, the next round coming in hits the first and goes to the other side, etc.
>>32683585
Huh. Today I learned. Thank you for the non autistic response, they're hard to come buy these days.
>>32683999
Funny part is that it's actually easier to make a staggered-column magazine feed from stripper clips than it is a single-column magazine, because then the single-column mag needs some extra device at the top of the mag that lets rounds go in from vertical but not immediately come out.

Mossberg 500 purchased last year, the only firearm I've bought new.
Aside from that, my next newest gun is a '89 CZ 75. Then I have a couple Remingtons from the 70s my 1967-dated WASR.
I like old guns. I think I'm pretty much done buying new guns.

Shiieeet.
What does it shoot?
Swiss .41 Rimfire, it has been out of production for over 80 years. I've converted mine to centerfire and use fire formed 8mm Lebel cases loaded with 10gr of Unique as a substitute for it's original blackpowder loading.
