Remington 870. Love the thing. It's cheap, reliable, otherwise simple to clean. But if you don't screw the tube cap right, the cap, pad, and spring will go flying off into the field. That's more user error thou.

The bluing completely wore off the bolt handle on my 700 Varmint..AND ITS A RANGE QUEEN I don't even hunt with it. The QC of Remington is hit or miss. It is accurate though. But Remington is now owned freedom group and they are more concerned about profit than putting out a quality product.

Just bought a new 870. The finish seems really good honestly, no tool marks and not a hint of rust. Still coated everything in CLP to be safe, but honestly it was better than I expected.
Looked at a Mossberg as well, and the 870 just felt better.

Both forends and stocks swap out without any fitting. Barrels are pretty much the only part that won't interchange, because the locking lug is cut further down the chamber on the 982.

I've even seen people put Remington magazine extensions on them. The Chinese are excellent at following blueprints, everyone has to give em that.
