Any bali under 100 will break and get stuck in someones eye. You can get a bradley kimura for around 100 on reddit knife_swap or bladeforums if youre lucky and act fast. Post in the " want to buy thread " for one of those.

Back on topic, go with Bear and Son, they're the only reasonable game in town now that the Bradley Kimura balisongs aren't being made anymore. If you can find a Kimura then go with that but don't get your hopes up.

They're pretty reasonable carry knives if the lock works correctly, very easy to open and close with one hand and a reasonable length without any buttons or internal locks. There are models with pocket clips but I wouldn't bother with that myself. You should just avoid the cheap ass Chinese versions. I'd spring for a Benchmade but I don't really want my most expensive knife to be a little balisong.

You won't find a decent live blade balisong for less than $100. But if she's okay with a trainer get her a BBBarfly, they're $25 and you can customize the shit out of them. For the price they're well buiilt and if she's careful with it should last several months to a year. By then she can decide whether or not she wants to take the step up to get a real balisong.
