>He fell for the "it ain't me" meme
Well, now what? Anyone have any suggestions for optics on a scout?
>>32665530
I own a m14 pattern rifle and desu optics make a heavy rifle heavier. If you're 9n the bench then go from it- fuck carrying that bitch around innawoods all day.
>>32665530
Vortex.
I hope to god you didn't get a Springfield.
>>32665530
>didn't build an M16A1
You get memed hard lad
BTW, anyone knows what happened to this?
It's sexy as fuck.
>>32665576
>>32665576
what do you mean what happened to it? it's a standard LRB M25 receiver in a JAE 100 chassis? I've got one of these in production right now, hopefully it's finished up in the next 6 weeks or so.
>>32665559
Crossfire or strike fire? I've been irons only so far
>>32665604
Well, it was kinda all over the board, and than things went quiet...
aimpoint micro

Unless you want to spend a bunch of money on a snazzy chassis, get it bedded properly. Dont do it yourself, youll do a bad job. I also dont recommend chassis since its really a waste of money. Spend that big money on an altogether better rifle.
Once you have the rifle bedded, get a Bassett Machine mount. For a scope, I use a Leupold VXR 3-9. Wrap it all up with a Harris bipod and some match ammo, and youll have a pretty straight shooter.
>bed it
>Bassett Machine mount
>scope (Leupold VXR)
>Harris bipod
And again, if youre every on the verge of buying a chassis, dont. Its seriously money wasted on a M1A. Just bed it, and never take the rifle apart. They are the absolute cleanest semi-auto on Earth. Just clean the bore, and scrub the piston once in a while. All easily done without fucking with the bedding.

Use an AG composites carbon fiber stock and a anything with more than 2.5 inches of eye relief. If your goal is a true battle rifle get a 1-6x. If it's more of a hunting rifle get a 3-9x or 3-12x.
>>32665530
SWFA SS. the cheap ones with fixed power are cheap, they have target turrets if 'DEE EMM ARR" is your thing, and their durable enough that they can even take the "awkward recoil" that the M1A doesn't have because the bolt isn't heavy as fuck. also, get an optics mount that screws into the side of the receiver... Hi-lux also makes the original M14 optic that is specifically made for the receiver of the M-14/M1A
>>32665540
>I'd rather be comfortable than be able to see what I'm shooting at.
Put an M68 on it and embrace your inner Randy Shughart .
>>32665990
Don't bother with bedding unless you want a M21/M25/USMC M14 DMR Build.
Go for a Chassis, there are several that are lighter than the Sage - the Troy, VLTOR, Blackfeather, JAE, and a few others
>>32665559
>M1A
Gee what do you think?
Isn't there like a shooting club or something where if you join you can get one for $300?
>>32666743
Tell me you aren't talking about CMP Garands in a thread about shitty Springfield M14s.
>>32666673
My point is that an M1A in a chassis is a waste of money. Its better to just go and buy a completely better rifle then waste the money trying to get an M1A up to the same standard.
>>32666649
This. Seriously.
>>32665530
Since this is the closest i found to a scope general
a while back i saw some anon post a scope
basically its pic related
the top part was with magnification and the bottom part was without or with lower magnification, you could see both sigth Pictures at the same time
anyone knows what im talking about
also admire my pain skills
>>32667095
paint skills*
>>32667032
But then you won't have an M1A, you'll have some other rifle you never wanted in the first place, so you haven't solved the problem at all.
>>32665990
What is wrong with the original bedding?
>>32667095
The Leupold D Evo does something similar. You get a magnified scope picture on the bottom and a red dot view on top, with them aligned to the same point of impact

thought it was pretty neat, but not at their price point.
>>32667142
>>32667149
Thanks, anyone knows what these types of scopes are called, so it will be easier to look up diffrent models and price check and such
>>32667168
Bifocal scopes?
>>32667095
Ya it was some leupold thing, check their site.
>>32667176
Thanks mate, ive been trying to rember the Word bifocal for ages!
>>32667177

pic related
thanks /k/ you just saved me hours of digging
>>32666649
This is the only reason id want an m14
>>32667230
The only reason I would want an M14 is that whole full auto thing.
Why does everyone shit on m1a's? I've never shot one
>>32669536
commies
>>32666731
>he doesn't know about Fulton and SEI
>>32669536
They're basically the worst battle rifle out of all it's contempories, least reliable most finicky, and heavy. But they're still really cool actions and fun to shoot as well as being potentially very accurate with a lot of work
>>32669725
Oh okay. So it's basically a 'fuck you I like it' rifle
>>32669731
Couldn't justify paying $300 for the mount, Just got the scout instead
>>32669725
>worse of all
As opposed to what for $1400?
>>32669725
>worst battle rifle
Wrong.
>>32665622
I own the crossfire and it's on my AR. Pretty nice scope
>>32669793
VKE-91s.
Imbel FAL builds.
Any similarly priced AR10.
>>32669811
Is that one LER? I don't know shit about optics. It mounts in the scout position on that particular m1a.
>>32665530
Aimpoint Comp-4, also look into getting a HopcoUSA mount
>>32665559
Who else sells M14 style rifles?
>>32669875
Fulton Armory, LRB, James River.
Norinco does, but lolbans.
>>32669710
They don't make M1As, M1A is a trademark.
>>32667111
M1A are very mobile within their stocks.
