Foot shape is more important than technology/type is more important than manufacturer/model. Models and manufacturing quality change all the time anyway.

French Foreign Legion jump boots.
They are based on the jump boots the Americans used in WW2/Korea.

To expand on that:
You will only get the fit right if you try them. Try a lot of them, really. Then walk around for a while and you might find they fit. Or not. There's no surefire way to get a boot that fits, save getting one made for your feet. God forbid if you have two different feet.
What kind of boot or shoe you need depends on your climate and use. I dislike goretex because it generally only works well with mesh/textile uppers that are hard to clean. Opinions vary though.
Thus: pure mesh/textile/suede for hot climates, pure water resistant leather for temperate ones, and rubber/leather for very cold climates. (There are differing opinions on cold weather footwear).
As for height: There is no need for anything above shoes outside of temperate winter and anything farther north. Usually, you'll get boots for protection from brush, scrub, ankle protection etc. Decide what you need.

They're based on the Boot, Service, Combat, Composition Sole, which was intended to replace both the Shoes, Service with leggings and the Boots, Jumper, Parachute from about mid 1943 until the end of Korea, not just the jump boots.
I use these and I've been pretty happy with them. For urban environment you may want to get something lighter.
Quite partial to my ducky boots desu
