I love it. It's very symmetrical, so being a lefty wouldn't affect how you can hold it, just the givens that the mag release, decocker and slide release are on the left. It's an awesome and simple little gun though. Also if you're not a fan of the magazine disconnect it's a very easy fix to remove it.

The magazine release isn't really an issue, but you try putting the gun in your left hand and (with just your left hand) fully engage the safety. I couldn't do it, maybe I'm just a pleb though. I just bought a CZ 75 PCR and that decocker is fully usable with just my left hand.

If you mean the decocker I can do it with my thumb in my left hand. My decocker was stiff as a mother fucker when I got it factory new. I had to literally push as hard as I could just to get it to budge. Now it's smooth as butter and I can thumb it nice and easy. It's a cheap but nicely balanced gun so you should definitely pick it up if you can.

Enough snow melted for my local outdoor range to reopen. Put 150 rounds through my 642, to test out the new Hogue grips and WC spring kit. Springs were great, Hogues sucked. Going back to stock grips.

Also brought my project Tokarev. Turns out the Chinese barrel won't feed from a Serb magazine. Spent the evening polishing the ramp down until it hand cycles reliably. Going back tomorrow to try it out.

All I was saying is that the Firestorm does not have a true decocker. It has (to my knowledge) a safety that also decocks. But it is a safety. I would say a true "decocker" is something like that on the sig handguns, a lever that only decocks the gun but does not keep the gun from firing. Maybe I'm just debating over semantics but having a safety that is that difficult to actuate in any capacity is not my idea of a good time.

Picked up some mineral spirits and 7.62x39 in order to finish getting all the cosmoline off my new Yugo SKS and be ready to take it for a spin soon.

Beat the hell out of its bolt in an attempt to get the firing pin retainer pin out to clean out the firing pin channel so I don't get slamfires, resolved to let it soak overnight and then try it again tomorrow.

Finished getting the cosmo off the rest of the gun and all of its finnicky bits, oiled it, mostly put it back together.

When there's cosmoline between the gun frame and the stock, getting that fucker out of the stock is a bitch and a half.
