From the perspective of airframe performance the Lighting was god tier, just great in basically every way. It was seriously let down by its equipment: radar, armament and avionics; they some of it was alright for a while but became obsolete and wasn't upgraded, others were just always bad. But damn it was fast as a stabbed rat, climbed like hell and by all accounts handled beautifully.
