Im working on the waivers for the meetup and will be sending it out soon. Please bring a signed copy with you to the check in table. Ill be riding to the event with my mom and aunt. They will be helping with the setup, registration and security. The important thing to remember is that any guns brought to the meet will be given to a safety officer for storage. My aunt and her state police boyfriend will be providing this service as all as being range officers.

When you want to shoot, just come to the security booth and check out the gun. An range officer wil escort you to the firing line.
Please keep 5 seconds between shots. No rapid fire.
I look forward to meeting you all. I wil be brining smores supplies (marshmellow, gram cracker, chocolate bar) so if you want to bring food to share that’s cool. Maybe weeners or hamborgs.

During the summer, no. When there is snow yes. There are thick patches of snow and mud. We have had a Crown Victoria police interceptor get stuck and that was in spring in a relatively small snow drift. On the same meet a 4x4 pickup got bogged down in mud and proved a real pain to free, but that's because he went off the trail into a marsh.

I would definitely advise extreme caution and 4 wheel traction during this time of year.

The range is technically in an unincorporated area, not in the city of cupertino proper. (google maps show the range as just outside of cupertino). I also believe that los altos rod and gun is in an unincorporated area as well.

I don't live there anymore though, and I don't know if any maps have been redrawn or not.

Of course, those ordinance doesn't seem to affect the range anyway, aside from the trap range selling shot shells.

I was too busy with other stuff like getting stalked by mountain lions and murdering whole families of mice to take decent, censorable footage of the meet proper but ask on slack and you might get a link.

Road is perfectly drivable in a 2wd in the summer, unless you have high performance ultra thin tires as a brz owner found out when he got a flat.

I live in the area. You can shoot up there at ice house/stumpy meadows if you can get there. Part of ice house road is plowed but much of it is not. Jeep clubs go up there all the time and can get away with it because the rangers can't follow in the deep snow. At some point there is company land with a public easement that you can shoot on as well but it's never plowed. Either way if you go to unplowed roads, especially this year, and get your rig stuck you ain't getting it out until spring.

There's literally never ever been an issue at any of the meets. At the Lucky S scout mission we hiked for a good ways all with loaded guns and had no problems. At the last Panoche we had guys climbing the hill with loaded guns and building the fire base with loaded guns. No problems.

The range has a covered shooting area for rifle and hand guns. Paper targets aren't required since they do have AR500 targets, although they aren't set up for every lane, and people sometimes end up cross firing into other lanes (though most people don't care)

I've never been there when there was heavy rain, but I have when there was light rain they were open, and almost no one was there. This was years ago, mind you.
