So how am I doing so far?

>Purchased the rear sight, the grip, and the ammo after the gun
>Purchased the rear sight and 120 rounds today

My next purchase is a couple of magazines.

>inb4 that is not the sheet of my bed, it's disgusting I know.
>>
>>32639141

How much did you pay for it? Did you build it or buy it complete?

If so, what brand(s) are the upper and lower receiver?
>>
>>32639141
You have the basics, which is good. Get proficient with those irons. How much did you pay?
>>
>>32639193
>>32639203
I paid $602 in total for the gun. It's a del-ton which I heard were decent, but some folks on here said they're low and cheap. The specs are good though, it came with a heavy barrel, m4 feed ramps, all mil spec parts, etc..

I like it so far, I bought complete. The complete name is Del-Ton Echo 316 m lok
>>
>some folks on here said they're low and cheap

Those are probably the boutique AR fags. Ignore them; they're legitimately autistic/cancer.
>>
>>32639141
Well OP let me tell you this;

You bought a really shitty AR, but it's better than nothing.

Save your money, buy an AR that is /not/ a 16 inch barrel with carbine length gas system. Buy one that is a 16 inch barrel with a mid length gas, MPI/HPT barrel and bolt and barrel, and make sure you buy good optics.
>>
>>32639236
Very cool. You got a very good price for that gun, you should be happy with that. I'm not a huge fan of the Magpul furniture, but That's a personal preference. All in all its a good setup that you got for a good price. Good job anon.
>>
>>32639256

>>
>>32639141
Correct me if I'm wrong, but dosent that stock wiggle a little bit? You may want to look into a different stock if so.

Thanks my fellow anon, I appreciate that. I'm definitely going to replace the rail when I can. I'm gonna put a troy industries one on. Other than that I don't mind the magpul stock or grip.
>>
>>32639419
How much are you modding It? At a certain point it would just be more cost effective to build an ar.
>>
>>32639390
No. Midlength gas systems tend to work better on 16 inch barreled AR's.
>>
>>32639419
Idk what you bought the gun for, and your level of familiarity with guns, but I highly recommend you;
A) learn how the ins and outs of that gun and how to properly clean, lube, and maintain that sucker
B) Buy ammo whenever you can
And
C) Take a basic carbine class or get some sort of training if you're a new shooter that's unfamiliar with ARs

Enjoy the rifle friend.

Yeah it does wiggle a little. I was planning on replacing the stock with my tax return. Idk what it is but I was going to get this stock

>>32639453
The rail, stock, and that's all for right now. I'm not very educated when it comes to what's good and what's bad, or the mechanics of the gun as of now. I'm very new to firearms. I know the very basics so far, like taking the upper and lower apart and taking out the bolt carrier.
>>
buy more ammo and magazines and shoot it a lot. you dont need anything right now.
>>
>>32639472
So what's so different between the two? How much would it be to replace? I mean this is my very first gun. Give me a break yo lmao.

Basically built the same thing. Same color magpul shit. Don't plan on attachments, so its fine with me.
>>
>>32639532
http://www.03designgroup.com/technotes/carbine-vs-mid-length-gas-system

basically just a bit more recoil, I really would not worry about it

i would recommend a spikes heavy buffer
http://www.spikestactical.com/lower-parts-spikes-stt2-heavy-buffer-p-201.html

if you like the rifle that is all that matters
>>
>>32639532
Looks sweet. I like the color. Wish I had gotten a Magpull edition.

Don't listen to these fags. If it goes bang when you pull the trigger, and pretty much all recent ARs do, then its fine. I bought a SW MP15 sport with a cheap spitfire optic, a rifle these guys said was shit. I honestly can say its every bit as good as the M4 I carried every day in Iraq.

Skill > weapon choice all day. Nothings more satisfying than outshooting buddies with $2000 setups. Its hilarious to listen to them blame the fucking gun for why they can't shoot straight.

Save your money on extra shit and spend it all on ammo. Just shoot the fuck out of that thing. Eventually you will get really good and you will be glad you didn't waste your money on shit you don't even need.

Good luck.

welcome to the "psa/delton i bought a beater rifle on the christmas/newyears sale" club.
>>
>>32639512
At the very least, shoot it and buy ammo to keep shooting. You'll figure out what you should switch out first
>>
>>32639472
Quit regurgitating shit you read only and show me objectively how they are "better" for 16" bbls.

>muh parts wear
They haven't been around long enough
>muh sight radius
Optics make this negligible

Thanks anon, means a lot. Yeah i try to take a lot of what folks say on here with a grain of salt. I've seen good reviews about this gun and it seems sturdy. Luckily I'm going shooting for the first time really in my life, on Sunday or monday.
>>32639865
Eh I got it at the same price that it's been at for a while on classicfirearms. The top half of your pizza looks disgusting btw.

Just "built" my first AR too. Kind of similar.

Kinda wish I got a mid-length, but the carbine length deal had better barrel steel and came with a rear sight, so I went with that.

>>32640010
ooooh should I get a carry handle?
>>
>>32643339
If you shoot in the cold and/or decide to shoot shitty ammo you will appreciate the carbine length.

>r8 my first gun
Congratulations on your generic 16" ar-15/wasr ak47.
Pic related explains my feelings on your purchase. Not a bad purchase, just not going to turn any heads since everybody and their mom has one at any given range trip.
>>
>>32639836
Look at this poorfag. Why do poorfags always lie about being able to out shoot people? So fucking insecure it's cringe inducing. You haven't outperformed anyone in anything, ever. That's why you are a poorfag with some shit tier Delton or M&P that belongs in the trash. KYS my man.
>>
>>32644658
I could really give two shit if people are impressed by it, I'm not trying to be super tacticool "look at my gun goys!". Just, is it a decent ar? If you get your guns for looks I feel bad for you.
>>
>>32645222
Because usually with most things, it's skill over product. Just because you have a $3000 guitar, doesn't mean you can shred. You people are just self loving small cocks. Hell, our military uses pretty cheap n shit AR's. It's a waste of money on some $5000 AR when you can get a $600 that shoots just the same.
>>
>>32645764
I think you're taking that comment as far more of an insult than it was meant to be.
>I'm not trying to be super tacticool "look at my gun goys!".
I'm glad you aren't because those ARs can look gross.
>If you get your guns for looks I feel bad for you.
It's often a big part of it, yeah. But it better work and be objectively good too.

I built mine. 1:6 twist, chromed lined barrel. Mid-length gas system. UTG ultra slim handrail. I am tossing around a Geissele trigger. Best way to learn the gun is to take it apart and build it at least once.
>>
>>32645795
Your $600 ar will not feel like a 22lr and be 3 lbs lighter and shoot 3/4 Moa
I could care less, but you have to be real
>>
>>32639236
>it came with a heavy barrel
Bad
>m4 feed ramps
Nothing special
>all mil spec parts
Meaningless.
>600 dollars
Could have gotten better for the price.
>>
>>32639236

Delton and DPMS are bottom of the barrel ARs. That's not to say they're awful but they are budget ARs. For about $200 more you could have gotten something much, much better.
>>
>>32639141
absolutelynothingwrongwiththat/10

good job

However I'd drill out the rivet for the front sling swivel and pitch it. That's the worst way to mount a sling anyway. Support the meme and put the sling (if you're even wanting one) through the back of the stock and get one of the mlok mounts for the handguard. Or nigger rig something out of paracord.
>>
>>32644567
That's good to know. I'm a poorfag so I like cheap ammo. Right now all I have is 150 rounds of PMC X-Tac. I probably won't get to shoot the thing for a while since there aren't really any rifle ranges in my area.

>worse than the chinese shit from model1sales
>>
>>32639141
But comrades wh wh why........ why do you put gun on piss rag
>>
>>32649045
Basic Delton and DPMS ARs don't even have treated barrels. For $600 you should at least be getting a Chrome-lined barrel.

He could get something a lot better for $800, especially if he'd just build the lower himself and buy a finished upper.

>>32649689
Isn't Windham the original bushmaster for all intents and purposes? What's wrong with them? The current Bushmaster / Remington is a crock of shit though, yes.
