At my field we divide teams by camo type. So one team is a bunch of ragtag OD green, M85 Woodland and Flektarn. The other team is UCP and Multicam, TRUST me when I say is a pretty clear divide between the teams. I once saw a game where they gathered from all over the country, on the rules that one shot can kill you if you're unlucky.

And since that mils-sim was also taking place mostly at night, there was later a lot of shitstorm about "terminators" (people who don't report they ware shot), etc.
I was watching that thread.
Since mil-sim is run by very strict rules (as close to real thing as possible), they obviously run AAR's.

And after like a week of comparing professionally written AAR's by all sides, shared on the forum, it turned out that everything was fine, all the "casualties" ware reported, nobody cheated etc...
For me, it was fucking impressive.

Those people spent more time doing the "bureaucracy" exactly how it's done by US standards, than playing.
And it paid off, all the conflicts and accusations ware resolved, and everyone kept being friends.

It's easy to forget that airshit can be an effective training tool, giving propper terrain - like lack of open spaces etc.

I don't get why you faggots shit on airsoft guys so hard. When I was in the army, a bunch of us bought airsoft guns and used to play in the barracks. PL was pissed at first, then later realize the realworld training value of what we were doing... so he arranged weekly airsoft scenarios we would play out in and around the CP. I think it's fat, out of shape arm chair commandos that get pissed at airsoft kids.... because let's face it... they're in better shape, and have a better understanding of room-to-room than your average /k/ommando. Don't knock till you try it, it really is a lot of fun. I like simunitions too but is much more expensive.

Can confirm, just make sure you get the version with the fixed stock, and make sure it's a VFC clone with a steel receiver (CM040+ IIRC), not a Marui clone as they have a potmetal/magnesium one. The fixed stock is preferable as the folding folding one has a cutout in the barrel trunnion for the forward latch ,that means that any stresses in the barrel are taken up by the shitty rivets, rather than bearing on the receiver which leads to the front end getting loose if you fall on it/ect. You can fix this by brazing it to the receiver ,(which I've done on mine), but it makes inner barrel removal a pain.

The gearbox is durable enough to handle pretty much anything you might want to throw at it, provided you know what your doing, I've ran mine at 30 rps with some higher torque gears and a lipo since I've had it, and it still runs just fine. Plus the V3s are significantly stronger by design than V2s since the front of the gearbox actually has some support, so stronger springs aren't an issue.

TLDR, It's durable enough to work fine and it's cheap enough to be replaced without a concern.

I'd stay away from the M14s if I were you, the deal with airsoft is there is no real appreciable increase in precision due to a longer barrel, only a slight increase in projectile velocity is observed, and even that has a point of diminishing return past 16 inches. This is due to the the fact that the volume of the cylinder in the gearbox is the same for pretty much any full sized arisoft gun (generally only sub 12 inch barrel guns use a ported cylinder), this means the volume of air behind a 16 inch ar/ak is the same as the 20 m14, and as such your not going to see much of a velocity increase. So with the M14 you end up with a rifle that's excessively long (keep in mind most airsoft is <100m so CQB is more common), magazines are significantly more expensive and uncommon (especially midcaps for those of us who don't enjoy carrying maracas with us), and the V7 gearbox has little commonality with the standard V2/3, and is more of a pain to work on to boot

On top of this, in an airsoft gun the hopup has way more of an effect on precision than the barrel, I have a friends MP5 that I added an R-hop to and stabilized the barrel, and it's every bit as accurate as my full length ak, if you want accuracy you want to tune the gun (stabilize/lap the barrel, add a better hopup, fix any compression leaks, ect), not get a longer barrel.

Sorry if this seems overly complex, I got into the sport as a teen, and at some point realized I prefer the technical side of the sport more than actual playing of it, keep in mind most people just buy a gun and don't know anything except if you pull the trigger it goes pew, so if your anything on that spectrum you'll be fine.

I never saw the harm in it, my roommate plays and at this point I'm thinking of joining him.
While my gear sits at home all day and only sees the woods every now and then he goes and gets to operate with no risk of actually dying. I keep thinking it's just kids shooting each other with toy guns but at least they're just having fun right?
Unless I go innawoods my kit never gets to have fun...
And it was really weird at first, you can put his airsoft AR next to mine and unless you really know what to look for you couldn't tell which one is fake.

I'm sure you if you showed up with some friends, you could get something started and people would join in, granted you'd almost be OPFOR in pickup games and you might trigger the surprising number of veterans that show up.

I've generally just wear the Gorka-3 suit I've got, and one of the larger fields nearby has enough people that dress similarly to do a ragtag Chechen rebel/Stalker group. The only thing you need to keep in mind is stay away from the tryhards/milsim community they just shit up the game.
