When I do not have my rear sight up on my AR, it appears blurry. When I cowitness through my rear sight, the image becomes crystal clear. Is this just the way the human eye works or is the unit bad?

Try it outside. If still blurry take a picture with your phone. If it is crisp in the picture you have an astigmatism.

It's time to go get glasses. You have an astigmatism in your eye. Peep sights correct astigmatism, so through the peep sight it appears sharp.

You have astigmatism. Looking through the peep should look the same as with your eye if your normal. Fuckin sucks, and I have it too. Etched reticles on optics are your friend.
