Why come everyone on /k/ and everybody stateside makes the AR-15 sound like some mean lean precision machine? Looking at reviews of e.g. FN and Stag guns they are 1.5-2 MOA rifles out of the box with premium ammo. To me this would be really just unacceptable in any new factory built rifle. Is there some inherent thing with the AR platform? Getting 3 MOA 5 round groups at 100 yards with some medium tier AR-15 sounds ridiculously bad to me.
>>
To clear up what I mean - my CZ 527 shot half MOA five round groups at 100 yards with S&B M193.

Chrome lined meme and muh milspec

An AR with a good barrel like WOA, arperformance, Rainier etc. is definitely moa capable or less.

Ar15s can be easily be built sub moa

This is a loaded topic. A sub 1000 dollar AR may or may not shoot. My stag model 1 is my most trusted ar15. Runs like a raped ape. It's accuracy is as you described. So I keep a carry handle on it. Same range and application as my arsenal sam7 sf. Just because it doesn't shoot one inch at 100 doesn't mean it's shit. Build something custom. Or spend the money.

I'm fine with my stag and colt not being TAC drivers. Is building a bad as AR worth it when one of my fudd guns clover leafs? Don't know...Maybe. depends. I have shot very accurate ar15's and it's nice to put more rounds faster down range with great shots, but still doesn't get me off like a well placed one shot one kill at longer range. Though the nice AR I shot could shoot an elks eyes out at 100.

They don't. You're probably thinking of all the AR vs AK threads where it's pointed out that your run-of-the-mill AR is more accurate than an AK.

What is a good approximation for the force imparted over a square inch by air resistance traveling at 1,200 feet per second?

Is a unit of time necessary? Since it is an approximation I would assume the projectile is traveling at a constant 1,200 ft/s

They are fantastically accurate, in general.

Chrome lining is applying a hard chrome coating over any imperfections in the bore, making it much more difficult for the projectile moving across them to wear it down.

Omit the chrome lining on a precision rifle, I guess.

a rule of thumb for bullet deceleration is 10 fps per 1 foot traveled

Literally all you need for a 1moa AR is a freefloated handguard, high quality ammo, and a high quality barrel. Everything else can be milspec and it wont make the rifle any less accurate.

I aint never seen a man who was two inches tall. Nor have i ever seen a man with a two inch head.

You are shooting at people who are far too close. .
That is why.

A 527 is a bolt action rifle, an AR-15 is semi. It's not really a fair comparison.
>>

Bought my Stag Model one in 2007 and it still shoots 1" groups at 100 yards. Free float troy rail helps but only to an extent. It's been through 5 high round count classes and has well over 6k rounds through it.

Ballistic Advantage barrels will get you sub-MOA easily.

>shit barrel=shit groups
really makes me think
