Agreed. When I went to SC, I visited the one next to Parris Island, probably the best gunshop I've seen. What gunshop can you actually see physically stocking things like 7.5 French?

Basically this. I'm guessing that they do deals with higher ups in the distribution chain, and don't even bother going through any of the traditional distributors' front doors.

I was talking to an FFL back when PSA had Sig P238's for $399 and the guy was like, "If I bought that gun from a distributor and sold it for that much, I'd actually be losing money." Distributors will give different prices to FFLs depending on how much they will invest up front, but PSA's quantity levels, at least for select firearms they know they can move, must be unlike anywhere else.

I live in SC and have two local gunstores in my area (i'm nowhere near paris island) and our shops regularly stock unicorn calibers, within reason (No dardick trounds or gyrojet rockets) But it helps with shooting my Bodeo and my K31

I actually bought my wife one of those Sig 238's for 399. I didnt realize how good of a deal it was at the time. Its a nice little gun, but I dont like the green sights.
